Hotel la Grisa

📍 La Grisa 23, Bale
★★★★ 9.3 (48 reviews)

"Here’s a natural, polished English translation: The hotel is located in the very heart of the picturesque little town of Bale. It is beautifully integrated into the overall character of the town and does not disturb the visual style in which all of Bale is built. It offers free parking, a very nice restaurant with delicious food, and exceptionally kind and professional staff who are always ready to help. The rooms are spacious, tidy, and clean, with all the necessary amenities. The hotel also features a swimming pool and a sauna. I definitely recommend it!!"

"Our stay at Camping Home Mon Perin was simply fantastic! The resort is beautifully situated right on the coast – crystal-clear water and lush nature all around. The beach area for getting into the water is relatively small and rocky. Since we were there in the off-season, the sea was too cold for swimming. We had a modern mobile home that was super clean, well-equipped, and had a lovely terrace. We had one with a private jacuzzi, which we highly recommend. The entire resort is very well-maintained. There are numerous recreational options, from pools with slides to sports fields. We were also pleasantly surprised by the Dino Park experience with its leisure pool. We were there in the off-season and weren't allowed to use the indoor pool with children. Everyone is 18+, which is a shame when you're traveling with teenagers. It says so on the website. The on-site restaurants offer a good selection of food, including regional specialties and international dishes. The staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and well-organized. Please keep in mind that the nearest town is 6 km away, where you'll find some lovely restaurants. It's best to explore the area by bike (there's a bike rental available). We'll definitely be back – Mon Perin is a real insider tip in Istria! 😊"

"I stayed in the hotel associated with the winery. See separate review for hotel experience. The restaurant is large and extremely nicely laid out, much of it in the covered terrace built on the side of the old farmhouse. The chef is totally brilliant. The food was creative, beautifully presented, and tasted great. Highlights for me were the use of local black truffles. As I was staying I’ve the Christmas period I ate there 6 times over 4 days. There are plenty of different choices on the different lunch and dinner menus. The wine list is HUGE, with a large selection of wine from the vineyard and all around Istria. There are also international wines eg from France and Italy. The sommelier Andy was exceptional - we had fun together debating the nose of certain wines. The waitresses are also so professional and friendly, especially Lucia and Nika. This place is great for a few special meals in you are a foody and a wine buff."

Hotel la Grisa ★★★★
"Excellent small hotel in a lovely old town. Best quality of design, architecture and interior with really pleasant details. Small, but really enjoyable wellness. Staff is five star! Super breakfast! We tried the restaurant as well, it really worth a trip even from distance. Our superior room was below the roof (superior, literally) without elevator and the air condition in the room was a little noisy and close to the bed - these were not comfortable with a 7 month old baby so I would not recommend these rooms for families with babies or elderly. Baby cot is for extra 10€ per day although the room was not cheap either. But all together we had a great time there and it’s a good place for exploring the western Istria."

"Few places make you feel so connected to where your food and wine come from. Walking through the vineyards, olive groves and extensive gardens and then enjoying produce grown on the estate on your plate. That kind of authenticity is incredibly rare. What will stay with me just as much are the people. The concierge was always eager to help and there was warmth and happiness throughout the property that felt completely natural and sincere. A beautiful place, but even more importantly a beautiful spirit."
