My son and I had such a wonderful stay at Umah Temuku, thanks to the warm hospitality of Pak Kadek and his wife. They were incredibly kind and always helpful, going the extra mile to make sure I felt comfortable throughout my stay. Umah Temuku is a cozy boutique stay with only four rooms, giving it a very private and intimate feel. The location is excellent - near Mandapa Ritz Carlton and right opposite Black Penny, plus just a 10-minute walk to Pepito for groceries. One of the best parts is how convenient it is to get food here. In less than a minute’s walk, you can support two local food vendors: an ayam geprek stall (only 12K IDR, cheap and delicious with amazing sambal!) and a nasi campur stall that opens after 5 pm. Just 2 minutes away you’ll also find the famous Nasi Ayam Ibuku Mangku, and within a 10-minute walk you can enjoy healthy cafés like Unity Café. There’s also a laundry shop just a minute away, and Ubud center is only about 15 minutes by car or bike, super convenient. The rooms themselves are spacious, spotless, and meticulously maintained. Pak Kadek clearly takes great pride in cleanliness. The bed is huge, and the balcony is massive, overlooking lush forest with glimpses of the river, perfect for unwinding. The room also comes with a smart TV (Netflix), strong Wi-Fi, and thoughtful touches like cotton buds and extra tissue, which they provide generously. Pak Kadek even lent me his humidifier during my stay, which was so thoughtful. They also serve breakfast for 100K per person, and there’s a rooftop pool that feels like an oasis… clean, calming, and surrounded by trees and birdsong. Swimming there was one of the most relaxing parts of my stay. The only small downside is that there’s no mini fridge in the room, but you can keep your items in the fridge upstairs by the pool, which worked out fine for me. Overall, Umah Temuku is a gem - clean, peaceful, convenient, and run by genuinely caring hosts. If you’re looking for a quiet place near Ubud but away from the crowds, I highly recommend it!
