Sovereign Bali Hotel

The hotel is about a 5-6 minute Grab bike ride from the airport. While the building and rooms show a bit of age, the bed was clean and the air conditioning worked well, making for a comfortable stay. What surprised me most was the incredible variety of breakfast options! Definitely worth getting a room with breakfast included.

The front desk staff were all very polite and incredibly helpful from check-in to check-out. The bedding in the room had a slight musty smell, and the shower design in the bathroom was a bit odd – you couldn't stand to shower without getting water all over the floor. Showering in the bathtub while seated felt a bit cramped. However, it's very convenient for getting to the airport; a Grab ride took less than 15 minutes. It's a great place to stay the night before your return journey, and there are three convenience stores directly opposite and nearby the hotel.

This was a really great place to stay. It's located in the heart of Seminyak, and it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the beach and beachfront restaurants like Ku De Ta. The room was spacious, and although the pool was a bit chilly, we still enjoyed it. When we had early morning tours, they brought breakfast to our room earlier than usual, and I was personally satisfied with the wide variety of options. The staff were also very kind. It's unavoidable, but there were some mosquitoes in the room. However, it was within an acceptable range (just one flying around the room). The restaurant within the villa was a bit pricey. The spa was decent, but the service was very meticulous, and overall I was quite satisfied. I'd definitely want to go back.

They still charge a 300,000 deposit for check-in? What era are we in that they still require deposits? Then, at check-out, I had to wait over ten minutes because they said they needed to check my car, which was waiting outside. It took ages to get my money back. I don't know why the reviews are so high, but the service was really mediocre 😮💨. There were no slippers, and the towels were all dingy and dark. The showerhead was leaking, and the water pressure was very low, making it super inconvenient to shower.

We had to extend our stay by an extra night quite suddenly, and the staff kindly accommodated our request to stay in the same room, which was incredibly helpful😊. The hotel was very clean, and the towels were changed daily, so absolutely no complaints!
