We stayed at Santai for 5 days, such a beautiful setting g and a lovely hotel. The staff are wonderful, the setting is stunning and so relaxing. Breakfast is great and coffee to your deck in the morning is a lovely touch. It’s a decent walk into town, but there are a few restaurants in close walking distance and they can organise a taxi for you at reception. A great place to stay for a few days diving and some relaxing

I had room 2 with the large sun terrace which I loved. I lived here for two weeks and often ate in the attached warung, where there was good and cheap food. The aircon was good. The owners were nice.

We really weren’t expecting what we came across with this place. On our arrival we were walked through the amazing garden to our accomodation which exceeded our expectations. The villa was a large bedroom with open air style bathroom and a large living/kitchen/lounge area on a single level. To our surprise we also had a roof top dining area with a Balinese style roof shade over the large dining table. This roof top gave amazing views to the steep and beautiful mountains and a great view of the large pool that was shared by only one other room. The accommodation however was only the beginning. When we ate at the restaurant, which is at the front of the property, my taste buds were blown away. The chef and owner Anis make traditional Balinese with food with plants and trees that are growing around the property. She also does a cooking school which we attended and again this did not fail to impress. The food really is some of the best food I have ever tasted with Sambals ground by hand( no food processor here) and two of the nights a whole suckling pig was cooked over coconut husk charcoal. Simply superb! Also my wife is gluten free. This turned out not to be the problem it normally is because wheat has never really entered the diet of people up here. Everything was wheat free. Outstanding. And to top it all off the staff were super friendly , helpful and really cared for us. Top job!
Waenis Sunset View Hotel and Restaurant, Amed, Bali

The hotel is located on a cliff and is a homestay with a restaurant with a view. Sitting on the agung volcano on the left hand and the sea view on the right hand, many tourists and local residents come to watch the sunset in the evening on a sunny day. Breakfast is a local Indonesian meal. Toast, eggs, muffins and other set meals are available at the front desk. Served with ice tea or coffee and juice. There is no problem at all if you are full. It was off-season when I went, and it was very quiet. Compared to the bustling south, there are not many tourists here. You can go to a dive shop nearby to dive. There are no other recreational facilities besides diving and snorkeling in the surrounding area, which is more inconvenient. If you want to go to the scenic spots, it is best to rent a motorcycle or charter a car. The hotel has more than a dozen guest rooms, all facing the Agung volcano, and there are villas facing the sea, suitable for families. The service of the hotel is very good. It can be said that the sense of service here is not found in many five-star hotels at home and abroad. The Wi-Fi and cell phone signals in this area are average. The hotel’s price/performance ratio is okay, but there are many homestays and diving resorts nearby and down the mountain, because the hotel does not have a dive shop, so if you are diving, you can compare it more. Tips: Try not to live here in the rainy season. In the first rainy season, it rains often and there are fewer chances to watch the sunset. Second, there are many flying insects in the rainy season, especially after the rain in the evening. The most flying insects. Those who are afraid of bugs must not stay here, because there are many lights in the hotel restaurant, which attracts bugs at night. So please consider it carefully before booking.
