The Stones Hotel - Legian Bali, Autograph Collection

Legian Bali|0.28km from Kubu Surf Lessons
Wow wow wow This hotel is absolutely amazing! I have wanted to stay here for so long and finally got the chance for a special stay (we just got married). From the time we arrived (which was late at night) we knew we would love our stay. Yuda at check in was so welcoming and friendly - the positive stay just continued from there We had just come from a 5 star hotel in Australia and let me say, the Stones outshines the Crown in Australia anyday!!! The location is opposite the beach - right in Legian, so perfect spot. Plenty of lovely restaurants within walking distance, and you can pop just across the road to the beach bars for a drink and watch the amazing sunsets We had a plunge pool room - which was perfectly located within the hotel (room 157). We love the ground floor rooms. The room itself was nice and spacious, very clean, quite and the beds super comfy. We didn’t really use the plunge pool though as sadly the water is freezing!!! The main pool was perfect temperature and we swam in that a lot - it’s huge! There is plenty of room for everyone and getting sun most of the day, it’s not cold. They also provide big pillows in the pool - so you can float about and relax The ice cream man floats around throughout the day and brings popsicles and fruit sticks - it’s a lovely gesture. Also the HAPPY HOURS - they are awesome, from 12-6pm (buy one get one free on selected cocktails and beers) Breakfast options are next level - from Asian inspired to western and even a donut wall, there is something for everyone. You can get anything made fresh too The hotel also has a big lobby with chess and a pool table to have friendly games with people which was a great idea We can’t wait to stay again!!!

Pullman Bali Legian Beach

Legian Bali|0.49km from Kubu Surf Lessons
During my recent stay at the Pullman Legian in Bali, I was left disappointed by the overall experience. Despite the hotel's appealing facade and convenient location in Kuta, the room itself fell short of expectations. First and foremost, the room I stayed in, which was supposedly a pool-front location, had a persistent dampness that was immediately noticeable upon entering. This unpleasant atmosphere made it difficult to fully enjoy the space and left me feeling uncomfortable throughout my stay. Moreover, the cleanliness of the room was far from satisfactory, and it did not live up to the standards one would expect from a hotel of this caliber. In fact, the cleanliness level was more comparable to that of a two-star hotel in the Kuta area. The state of the bathroom floor was particularly disappointing, with visible damage and an overall dirty appearance. The wooden parquet flooring was scratched in multiple places, which gave the room an unappealing and poorly-maintained aesthetic. To make matters worse, even the simplest details seemed to have been overlooked. For instance, the chair in the room displayed signs of rust, which further added to the feeling of neglect. The water hose attached to the bathtub appeared to have never been cleaned, as it had a noticeable buildup of mildew and left a silky feeling on your hands when touched. Considering the brand reputation of Pullman, I expected a much higher level of cleanliness and attention to detail. Unfortunately, my experience at the Pullman Legian fell short in these aspects, making it difficult for me to recommend this hotel to others. On a positive note, the location of the hotel was undoubtedly convenient, situated in the heart of Kuta Bali. However, the disappointments encountered within the room overshadowed this advantage. In conclusion, despite the attractive facade and prime location of Pullman Legian in Bali, the lackluster room conditions and subpar cleanliness detracted significantly from the overall experience. If you value cleanliness and attention to detail in your accommodation, I would recommend exploring other options in the area before considering a stay at this hotel.

Alaya Dedaun Kuta

Kuta Bali|0.5km from Kubu Surf Lessons
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying one night at Alaya Dedaun Kuta, and wish we’d stayed longer. The location is great, right in the thick of everything with endless restaurants, bars, convenience stores and shopping, but also somehow a peaceful oasis when you set foot on the property. Check in was lovely, and even though we encountered some technical issues with payment, the check in proceeded and we cleared up payment without issue the following day when a team member more experienced with the eftpos machine could process the transaction. The property is lovely with beautiful gardens and very private villas. Our villa was bigger than our apartment in Sydney, with a huge and beautifully designed bedroom and living area overlooking a lush garden and pool, and a ridiculously huge bathroom. Welcome tea was brought to our room with our bags, and it was lovely to sip on our iced tea whilst we relaxed by the pool. The bed is very comfortable and we slept peacefully. The bathroom had plenty of towels, with great water pressure. We enjoyed one Indonesian breakfast and one Japanese breakfast the following morning, and were genuinely surprised at how delicious everything was. Before breakfast was served we received a quiet knock on our front door to see if the breakfast could be set up outside. This was a welcome touch, as we had the opportunity to close our curtains and get dressed, whilst breakfast was set up outside. It was such a lovely start to the morning, to enjoy our breakfast outside whilst we watched the trees sway and the pool water ripple. Unfortunately we had to check out after breakfast, and were kicking ourselves that we didn’t stay longer to enjoy our pool properly, and a spa treatment onsite at the acclaimed DaLa Spa. I would highly recommend staying at Alaya Dedaun Kuta, and hope that you can stay longer than we did!

Let me begin by stating that I’ve stayed in hostels in over 30 countries over the last 10 years and have never had a poor experience that left me feeling the need to leave a bad review. Take that for what it's worth. They checked me into a different room then I had booked (no big deal) but the AC didn’t work properly and dripped water on the floor creating a puddle and a dripping sound. There were a lot of mosquitos and only a mosquito net over 1 set of bunk beds. I was moved to the bunk bed with mosquito net but it had holes in it so was effectively useless. They then sprayed fly repellent in an attempt to fumigate the room (good intentions) but it nearly gave me an asthma attack... also not the end of the world lol but I realized I wasn't going to be able to sleep without AC and with mosquitos attacking me/fume issues. I politely explained that I wasn’t going to be able to stay there due to the reasons listed above (broken AC/Mosquito issues) and that I would like my money back. The manager “Bernie” then proceeded to get defensive. I explained I wasn’t mad and understand things happen but that I wasn’t physically going to be able to get any sleep in the room and that I hadn’t slept in the bed or spent any significant amount of time at their hostel so would like my money back for at least 1/2 night i had paid for. He proceeded to get more defensive. I began to use my phone to investigate another accommodation while he proceeded to talk to his co-workers in their native language while referencing my name. He then started playing “you can’t always get what you want” by the Rolling Stones on guitar (obviously directed at me and much to the amusement of himself). When I explained I was leaving and called him out on being disrespectful and ignorant he told me I was “ruining their good time” and that the money was already gone. I didn’t want to make the other guests feel uncomfortable, as I wasn’t sure if they could understand the situation (language barriers), so I left without my money. This is my only recourse so I hope it helps people know what the guy running the place is like. Also in a horrible location in comparison to other hostels/hotels in the area in case that's an issue for you (just thought i'd mention it, not a deal breaker by any means). GFY Bernie you miserable P.O.S.

Super junk breakfast, not made by the chef, it feels cold, not self-help, it gives you bread and boxed drinks, compared with other buffet breakfast, and we went late, actually gave us a The room in the building, the inside smells pungent, strong paint smell, let him change the room, he gave me a second floor, I feel that the thief on the second floor can easily climb into the balcony, no sense of security, bad reviews, bad reviews , bad reviews, don't recommend you to come here, after all, there are really many hotels nearby.

The breakfast is delicious! The swimming pool can see the planes taking off and landing, and the open-air bar restaurant on the other side can see the beautiful sunset and the beach! The key point is to provide hookah smoking, which is really worth it! It’s really not expensive to spend all of it, but the atmosphere is very good, and the drinks are delicious, but I didn’t try it for dinner, which is a pity~ The room is big, the water in the shower is strong, the bed is big and soft, you can sleep well without hearing the noise from outside, and there is a whole pack of welcome snacks in the room, which is really considerate! This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in Bali, I can really stay here all day without getting tired😋

Casa Wina Kuta

Kuta
This hotel is located in very strategic location, close to Kuta beach. Just walk through the alley to the beach. Also close to Beachwalk Mall. Only if you bring a car it is a bit difficult to enter the hallway to this hotel. You can park at Wina Holiday which is located next to this hotel, because there is a way from Wina Holiday Vila to Casa Wina. My advice is that it is better to just stay at Wina Holiday because the path to this hotel is quite far, especially if you bring your own suitcase. Positive notes : the staff is very friendly. The hotel location is strategic. There is a restaurant at the hotel. Breakfast is standard and not many menu choices. There is a swimming pool with a bar in the middle. Wifi ok. TV is available but TV channels are limited. AC ok. Clean rooms. Disadvantages: Casa Wina can be said to be more of a villa and not a hotel, because of the room facilities. The room key is still manual, the hot water in the bathroom doesn't come out. There is a fridge available in the room. But bathroom facilities are limited. There is no elevator so it was quite difficult for us to carry our suitcases up to the 2nd floor because the stairs were also quite narrow. When I was staying there and it was raining heavily, water pooled in the hotel area because it seemed the drainage system was not functioning properly. The more expensive price from Wina Holiday villa made me somewhat regret staying at Casa Wina, because I felt it would be better to stay at Wina Holiday which still has the same management, because apart from the cheaper price, walking access to Kuta beach is still better from Wina Holiday.
