CITADEL SAROVAR PORTICO HOTEL BENGALURU While the location of the hotel is near the Race Course and conveniently located, hotel guests should be aware of issues that can affect their stay at this hotel. 1) The Flavours Restaurant which is the only restaurant for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner is situated in the Atrium well and is ringed with the hotel floors all the way to the top. This exposes all rooms to the aroma and smells of food during and way past mealtimes. It is not something that should hit you in the face as soon as you open the door of your room. 2) Cleanliness of the rooms and flooring leave a lot to be desired. In out room there were drip stains on the walls as well as stains on the flooring which seemed to have been there for a long time as they were difficult to remove. 3) There is a physical Travel desk located in the Lobby and when I waited at the desk I was told by one of the Receptionists that they do not have a Travel Desk. Their Manager quickly intervened and said that they do have a Travel Desk, but the person attending had gone out. So I booked an Innova to take me to the airport the next morning at 7:30 am. 4) My wife & I checked out of the hotel at 7:20 am and waited for the Airport transport. There was no sign of the vehicle. It looks like it was not booked at all as the Manager said that he would arrange an Uber if the vehicle does not come. There was a scramble to get a vehicle for me to get to the airport and it was only at 7:50 that the Innova arrived. We kept getting assurances from the reception that we would reach the airport in time to catch the flight – but I advised them that the issue is not about us getting to the airport in time but, that the transport was not ready and waiting for when it was booked. 5) As a matter of serious concern is a cluster of Mobile transmitting towers just across the road at the Vijayanand Bus Depot. The proximity of these transmitting towers is a health hazard. 6) On the plus side I must admit that the staff in the restaurant, floor staff and the concierge staff are very courteous and helpful. 7) On the minus side I observed that they are slow moving and do not take their duties seriously – mainly the Front Desk. My review is documented as I experienced the issues during my stay at this hotel.
