A breakfast that turned my trip home into a nightmare
Omelette with 100 ml of old oil — and a woman preparing it who looked like she was absolutely furious to be there. That pretty much sums up my experience at this hotel.
I selected a room with a double bed, specifically because we were traveling as a couple. When we arrived, the receptionist told us the room was actually a twin. I politely asked if she could at least check whether there was any possibility of changing it. She didn’t even bother checking and immediately said the hotel was full. Zero effort, zero willingness to help.
The hotel itself is just okay. I chose it mainly because it advertised free airport transportation, but this turned out to be poorly communicated. The shuttle operates only at very specific times, with a very limited schedule, which makes the “free airport transfer” sound much more useful than it actually is.
The pool was okay, although there were a lot of children jumping around constantly. Nothing terrible, just not exactly relaxing.
The restaurant was mediocre. We ordered dinner to the room, and the food was far from impressive. But honestly, the dinner wasn’t even the worst part.
Breakfast was the real disaster.
The omelette had more oil than egg. I genuinely don’t know how that can even be called an omelette. There wasn’t even a cheese option at the buffet. Around 60% of the food was Chinese dishes, several trays were completely empty and not being replenished, the nuggets were cold, and the sausages had a strange plastic-like taste.
I think the only thing that actually worked was the toaster.
And then there was the omelette station.
The woman preparing the omelettes was so visibly irritated and unfriendly that I honestly felt uncomfortable even asking her for an omelette. A breakfast should not feel like you’re taking a risk by approaching the person preparing your food.
Unfortunately, the experience got much worse afterward.
During my flight home, I developed an absolutely severe gastrointestinal illness. Whatever caused it, something I ate that morning clearly did not agree with me. I suffered for three days afterward. I cannot prove exactly which food caused it, but given the timing and the quality of the breakfast, the experience left me seriously concerned about the food and hygiene standards.
I have stayed in many hotels and understand that not every breakfast will be perfect. That’s not the issue.
The issue is that this hotel combined poor service, misleading information about the airport shuttle, mediocre food, poor breakfast replenishment, an extremely unpleasant omelette station, and what became a three-day illness after leaving.
This is not an experience I want to repeat.
For me, this stay wasn’t simply disappointing. It left a lasting impression for all the wrong reasons.
