Maitria Hotel Sukhumvit 18 - A Chatrium Collection Bangkok Reviews

Before my trip, I saw some less-than-positive reviews, which made me a bit concerned about safety. However, as soon as I got my room key and went to check out the room, the facilities were much better than I expected and what the reviews suggested. Breakfast: The selection isn't huge, but it's suitable for families. Pool: Smaller than I imagined, only really suitable for kids to splash around in, not for actual swimming. Hotel Location: It's in the middle of Soi 18, very convenient for getting to Terminal 21 shopping mall and Asok BTS station – just a 10-minute walk. At the entrance to the soi, there's a 7-Eleven and many street food stalls. It's also convenient to take a taxi to other places, though it can get quite congested when heading back to the hotel during rush hour. I stayed for four days and the staff were consistently enthusiastic. There's room for improvement with the air conditioning; it's an older ceiling unit that can be either hot or cold. The room lighting is a bit dim when the curtains are closed, though the dining area is quite bright.

This hotel offers excellent value for money. The front desk staff are incredibly welcoming, setting a benchmark for other hotels. They're always greeting you with smiles, truly embodying the spirit of Thailand. When we checked out, it felt like all my relatives had come out to see us off – it was a lovely and heartwarming gesture. A special thanks to Mr. Ducky and Mrs. Bowry for their care! The room is more like a small apartment, featuring a kitchenette along the corridor with a full range of appliances: microwave, stove, toaster, dishes, and a decent-sized refrigerator. As a welcome bonus, the hotel provided several cans of Coke, Fanta, tonic, and coconut milk, along with coffee, tea, and sugar. The bed had a super orthopedic mattress and was very comfortable. There's also a dining table, a coffee/work table, a modern TV, and an armchair. The bathroom is medium-sized, neatly renovated, and all the plumbing worked perfectly. The only issue was the air conditioning; even set to 26 or 27 degrees, it blew icy air at around 20 degrees. We reported it to reception, but they couldn't fix it, so we had to turn it off periodically. Breakfast was a little above average and of good quality: there's always one meat dish, sausages, sometimes fish, and salad fixings like cabbage, greens, cucumbers, and tomatoes. Sides include rice and spaghetti. There are two types of soups that change throughout the week. Yogurt comes in individual cups (classic and strawberry), and there are toasts with jam and butter. Pastries include croissants, puff pastries, and muffins. You can choose between natural coffee and coffee from a machine – after all, you're at a coffee club! The ambiance is beautiful and stylish! The hotel has two elevators, a gym, and a rooftop pool above the 8th floor. Sun loungers and hotel towels are provided, along with restrooms and showers. In the evenings, the lighting around the pool is a bit dim, which they attributed to energy saving. The location is good and central, with a sidewalk leading to Sukhumvit if you're walking to the metro. The area is clean, apart from some overflowing trash bins in one spot and a construction site near the hotel. It's about a 10-minute walk to BTS Asok station and at least 15 minutes to MRT. There's a 7/11 at the beginning of the street, about 5 minutes from the hotel. This is a good, comfortable, and heartfelt hotel that's great value for money! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends, and it definitely deserves the highest ratings.

Very good location and convenient yi the train station. It was perfect for us as we visited the park multiple times throughout the trip

It is near asok BTS, the room is spacious & clean. The breakfast is not much choices. The hotel is near terminal 21 so food & shopping are much easier.

This was my second stay, and it was a great experience! The staff are very friendly, there's a convenience store right at the alley entrance, and the hotel also offers a free breakfast for guests. I'd definitely want to come back for my next trip.

Convenient location, close to the BTS and MRT Sukhumvit station. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Conveniently located near both BTS and MRT stations, making getting around a breeze. Reaching major shopping malls in the city center is also not an issue. There are convenience stores nearby and Terminal 21, perfect for late-night snacks and shopping. The facilities are good, and I would stay here again.

Stayed at Maitria hotel throughout my Hyrox trip for 4 nights. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly, helpful and efficient.  Room was clean, amenities were also fully equipped.  Overall very happy with the stay and will definitely stay at Maitria hotel again for my next Hyrox race in Bangkok.

It's a bit of a walk from Asok Station, but it's in an easy-to-find location. It's on a quiet side street off the main road, and the room was spacious and clean, making for a comfortable stay. Since there were three of us, the triple room was a nice bonus. There's a laundry room in the basement, but you need to buy special tokens at the reception desk. Each token costs 90B, and you'll need one for washing and one for drying. Detergent is 10B. The washer and dryer are separate, so you'll need to transfer your clothes, and using them takes a bit of getting used to, so check the instructions next to the machine or ask at the front desk. They don't speak Japanese, but they were very kind and helpful (Thank you, Noom!).

This hotel boasts an excellent location, tucked away just off the main road, putting you right in the city center. It's incredibly convenient with plenty of massage shops and dining options nearby. The hotel service is good, and breakfast is decent.
