The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon

This was my second chance of redemption visit to The Standard hotel. The aesthetics and friendly staff here are what made this visit OK! But compared to other 5* hotels in Bkk this is missing some service touches. No welcome drink/room gift, no one by the pool with free water unless you order something from the bar and then they bring water... Makes the experience feel budget star. 4 bottles of comp water in the room is not enough once you use two bottles to make coffee, a preference on coffee capsules would have been nice... I didn't think to request in advance all decaf. There was also no milk to go in the coffee. I didn't want to go through the efforts to request more as I was busy. The hotel music is somewhat better than others but does feel like ai sludge after a day of sitting poolside. The pool felt uncomfortably busy at late afternoon sunset hours. If you want to tick this hotel off your list 1-2 nights is enough, the beds are super comfy, although mine squeaked sometimes, and the linen was top quality, as we're the super fluffy soft bathroom towels -then nicest I've felt in a long time! The nearby soy silom 5 market is a delight but closes by 2pm!

Staff are v welcoming. At the counter, they address you by your name. Welcome mocktail & cocktail was great. Check in was pleasant and smooth. Room was very clean. I didn’t find any issues. No smell and no mold in toilet. Room layout and design was well planned hence they maximise the small space. Love the design of the space. It’s quite upscale and artsy. Free entry to 78th floor after 7pm. We can even redeem a ticket for every night though we only went up once. View was amazing. I have zero complaints. I can see the team put in effort and they care for the guests. Would consider staying again. Thank you The Standard team!!!

Good location and decent view, bit loud though. The tall fat room service guy was definitely stealing pastries from our room service orders as we only got one of everything when he delivered but two of everything when other people delivered

Really impressed with this hotel. The architecture and interior design are stunning, and they’ve nailed the finer details. Everything was exceptionally clean. The bathroom was a massive highlight especially the bathtub, which actually had plenty of space for two people (a rare find!). Room service was quick and efficient, and being so centrally located made getting around via Grab incredibly easy. Would absolutely stay here again.
