Montien Hotel Surawong Bangkok

Silom/Sathorn Bangkok|2.23km from Wat Pathum Khongkha Ratchaworawihan
I had the pleasure of staying at The Montien for 3 weeks 2 months ago when on a company-booked trip. My room and bed were extremely comfortable and spacious, with plenty of natural light and unobstructed views, quality amenities including a Nespresso machine. The Montien decor is modern, Thai style and beautiful. The breakfast buffet is bountiful, with plenty of variety. Pierre Pelletier, the Area General Manager and his team went above and beyond to ensure my stay was outstanding! Then this month when my family and I planned a vacation to Bangkok I picked this hotel as our base. The hotel is conveniently located for easy access to the sky and underground trains, many must-go-to restaurants, cafes, Siam Paragon, temples, Chinatown, night walks and more. We were welcomed with incredible 5-star Thai hospitality. Special mention to Khun Nu, her front desk team and night manager Khun Jew for handling flight delays, airport transfers and arranging pick up of lost luggage, Khun Tik for his world-class warm welcomes, Max’s regular assistance and taxi coordination, the ever-helpful and polite bellmen, Beer remembering our morning coffee preferences, Kae at Ruenton restaurant for looking after us at dinners, friendly Tanya at the lobby bar, the housekeeping team for keeping our 3 rooms impeccable and everyone who made our Bangkok vacation so memorable! It felt like our home away from home and we enjoyed our time here so much!

Loy La Long Hotel

Riverside Bangkok|0.08km from Wat Pathum Khongkha Ratchaworawihan
Location location location. It is hidden behind a temple and they were working on the walking path outside this house that is on the river and so we were hesitant upon arrival. Once the door opened, though, that all faed away. The house is not on the banks, but literally IN the river. You can see when the tide is high the water lapping on the bank as you walk into the front door. Off with those shoes and into one of their seven guest rooms. We had the Red Room with its funkiness: small shower and cubby hole extra space with no true windows to the exterior, but it was AMAZING. The bed was SO comfortable. I would wake up every morning and step out of the room and onto the terrace overlooking the Chao Phraya with a fresh cup of coffee and just soak it all in: watch the barges go by. Their breakfasts are amazing. You choose from a menu the night before and they serve you on their terraces or inside the downstairs restaurant area. It is on the edge of Chinatown so there is much to do and see just right here. It's on the river so easy access to two piers with water taxis and the tourist boat to hop on hop off at all the major temples and must see attractions. We walked from here to two Michelin reviewed restaurants (only were able to get into one because we didn't have reservations) and the neighborhood felt safe even at 11PM. One strike against if you are an early-to-bed kind of a person is that, being on the river, you hear the dinner cruise party boats every night. And there are a lot of them going up and then back down with live lounge singers on the way up and then dance tunes on the way back. This isn't until that late, but it could be a bummer if you are sensitive to noise. If I remember right, they offer earplugs for those that need. Watching the boats float up and down the river in the evenings was fun in itself.

China Town Bangkok|0.32km from Wat Pathum Khongkha Ratchaworawihan
From check-in, to check-out, this was an awful experience. At the check-in, they appeared to have no record of our booking and we had to show them the website we had booked with. The reception area looked authentic Chinese style and we had high expectations that things would continue with the same theme. This hotel is clearly a refurbished hotel and done with a Chinese twist (being in Chinatown it's not difficult to see why!), however it has been done on a very low budget and standard. The first (and in my opinion) the worst) fault is the room entrance door. It is a narrow double door and secured on the outside of the room (only) by a hasp and (very cheap) padlock. The hasp is secured by only 2 screws, so simply unscrew the 2 screws on the outside of the door - and you are inside, in seconds. Hardly a secure solution when all the guests possessions are in the room. Even without undoing the lock (or removing the hasp, the door pushes open (when locked) sufficiently to use a long rod or pole and 'hook' up the guests possessions inside the room. On the inside of the room door - there are 2 very poor quality bolts at the top of the door - which is the only means of securing the room when it is occupied and/or the guest is sleeping. The room is pretty small at 18sq.m but we knew that when we booked so cannot complain, and it overlooks a busy Chinatown side street which unfortunately has a steel fabrication shop a few doors away and we could hear steel being cut with electric saws from dawn to dusk. Then at dusk a couple of street food stalls opened up opposite the hotel, so there was the noise from that for half the night too, but we shouldn't complain as this is Chinatown. In the bathroom the floor seemed to be constantly wet and it wasn't long until we found out why. there is a wooden sink cabinet in the bathroom next to the shower (bad design there), but when the waste water was emptied down the sink drain, the waste water didn't go down the drain pipe where its connected to the wall, but instead emptied itself all over the bathroom floor. We complained about this to reception and a staff member came to look but said there was nothing she could do as neither a technician or a manager was available. We told her we were not happy about standing in waste water, and so she gave us a towel to put on the floor and stand on that instead! From the condition of the cabinet, this had been leaking for weeks or even months and was not a new problem. In addition, the shower spray hose holder was broken and the hand held shower was simply propped up against the wall. We read online that there was a bar/restaurant on the roof terrace and from the online pictures, looked lovely with all the red lanterns lit up at night - however when we went up there to the 5th floor it was in complete darkness, so we assumed was closed. We were going to ask at reception, however there was nobody on duty behind the reception desk, just a sign which read ”reception will return

I am very disappointed with the recent negative reports about He Jing Hotel. I have lived here intermittently for the past decade. This includes nine days of staying here when the airport closed in 2008. I came here again in November of 09, the most recent one was January 10 this year. Every time I come here, the hotel never leaves a bad impression on me. It must be said that every time I come, I live in the renovated presidential room and have not lived in a cheap room. I gave the manager a suggestion that the restaurant on the top floor should not play music all day long. The restaurant is a place to enjoy the tranquility. After that, it was recommended to implement it immediately. But unfortunately, if the staff were to turn off the music or turn down the sound, they were not very willing to help. Apart from this, Riverview Hotel is an incredible place!

My stay at Pho Place was one of my best places that I have stayed in especially their internet speed was one of the best even with 8 or more people on it. The staff were also exceptional and very helpful in helping me In fact everything was very great . The only real issue was that I am a foodie and used to a lot of food carts around when I stayed in Chinatown and not just once a month, but there was plenty of different places to eat so it wasn't too great a hardship for m lol

From 19:00 there's nobody anymore, so it's better not to need anything. We went on taxi at 6 a.m. without anyone realizing it. What most disturbed me is that the windows are very fragile and close just with a small metal stick. Not secure at all, nor insonorized. The hotel is located in the centre of the city, and the hotel is located in the centre of the city. The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. My advice: double glasses and hotel service are to be provided, otherwise you need to reclassify into ”family pension” or ”hospitality” and reduce the price by half.
