The Grand Palace Hostel
3.7/50 Reviews
Khaosan Road
The hotel is generally very good, very clean, and the environment is very good. It is very quiet. There are 2 supermarkets next to it, as well as a flower market and a farmer’s market. It is only more than 10 minutes’ walk from the Grand Palace. The owner’s mother can speak Chinese, very She enthusiastically introduced the scenic spots and helped us to call the taxi. She helped us to call the taxi to the airport and the meter was only 320 Thai plants. When we came from the train station to the Grand Palace, there were only 200 plants without a meter.

Very nice and comfortable boutique hotel. The hotel is located in a nice part of Bangkok, close to some points of interest, such as Chinatown, Wat Po, Museum Siam, Grand Palace, and many temples. Everything was really nice. Not only the location, but the people were friendly and engaging.  The hotel is close to the Chaopraya River. so you get an incredible view at night. The decoration is minimal and pleasant to the eyes. The staff are really lovely and helpful, and the hotel is neat and clean. I will definitely come back again.

A very clean hostel with well-cared for facilities. The owners and their son (plus Yellow the bird) are very welcoming and helpful. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms always spotless and well-stocked. The location in Old Bangkok is fantastic, easy to cycle or walk to many interesting locations. Thank you!

The location of the hotel is very good, close to the Grand Palace and Temple Arun, and also very close to the pier. There is an open-air balcony on the roof overlooking the Chao Phraya River and Bangkok's cityscape. The boss is very friendly, even though I arrived so late at 1:30 in the middle of the night. They checked me in and the facilities in the dormitory are also very complete. It is highly recommended.

If you fancy gorgeous views of Wat Arun and watching life along the river unfold then look no farther than Arun Riverside. The views, directly across from Wat Arun, are simply stunning, especially at night when it's lit. Our room, a 3rd floor Riverview Suite, was comfortably sized with a king bed, sofa, modern bathroom, and small balcony. The included breakfast was very good with several choices available. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The area is also a short walk to other popular (Old Bangkok) sights (Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Pho). One thing to keep in mind...there is no elevator so if you are on a higher floor (my suggestion) you will have stairs to contend with although staff will help deliver your luggage to the room.

Highly recommend this industrial chic boutique hotel. Go for a Wat Arun room. The Wat Po rooms basically look down an alley or at neighbouring buildings. Rooms was spacious with adequate shower. Room comes with bluetooth speaker, Nespresso mini. Decent minibar (although why would you with the obligatory 7/11 close by). Sadly no balcony, however rooftop bar makes up for it. Its a walkup so bear that in mind if you have mobility issues. Food is excellent - both breakfast and dinner. Would recommend eating dinner at the hotel (reservation recommended). Hotel has a popular rooftop bar with 360 views of the area, decent cocktails and bar menu. Have stayed in this area before and wow has it improved! The area is definitely going down the gentrification route and lots of bars, coffeeshops, juice bars etc. A huge improvement has been the opening of the Sanam Chai MRT station - access via public transport is now super easy.
