GGuest UserThis was an overnight on our way from Hong Kong to Wuyishan. We arrived at the hotel around 9.45pm, having followed Baidu's map to get there. My wife reads Chinese: I wouldn't have been able to navigate my way there in the dark without lots of trial and error, despite the careful directions the hotel sent, as the roads are tricky to find. The person manning the front desk raced down to open the gate to the property and was very helpful in getting us settled. The room was very simple but elegant, with a great shower space. We had some trouble figuring out how to get the air conditioner working, but the front desk came up immediately to help. Only negatives: the room is a bit dimly lit for my taste, and someone had left the bathroom window open which meant we had a visitor in the form of a mosquito. The grounds are lovely, and we wish we had more time to enjoy them. The breakfast space is beautiful, and they provide a set meal (standard in such boutique hotels), plus some sides on the buffet. My personal feeling was that several dishes in the set meal were a bit too salty, but that may be just me. Checkout was very smooth, and the staff offered to pack an afternoon tea for us.

XXieshoutongchengyangDuring our week-long trip to Xiamen, we chose to go sailing in Wuyuan Bay and stayed at the Wyndham. A special thanks to our butler, Annie, for her warm hospitality. She was incredibly helpful, providing her WeChat so we could ask questions and get assistance anytime. Seeing that we were two adults and two children, the hotel proactively upgraded our room. The room was beautiful and boasted a stunning sea view. The kids were absolutely thrilled the moment they stepped inside! We had a very comfortable night's sleep, as the bedding was wonderfully cozy. It was a shame the weather was overcast; otherwise, we could have watched the sunrise right from our bed.

We had a wonderful experience at Langham Place Xiamen hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The room was very spacious, featuring a comfortable king-size bed and a great selection of pillows to choose from.
The breakfast was very good with a wide variety of options to suit everyone’s taste. The hotel’s location is also fantastic, conveniently near a large mall and surrounded by plenty of great eateries.
Overall, an outstanding hotel! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back !

GGuest UserDuring this trip to Xiamen, we stayed at three hotels, and my child absolutely loved The Portman the most. I would also highly recommend it.
Here's why: Qixing Bay boasts a beautiful seascape with fewer crowds. You can probably catch both sunrise and sunset here (though we didn't specifically try). The hotel's direct access to the beach, just across the road, is incredibly convenient. At low tide, you can go beachcombing – there were plenty of hermit crabs, razor clams, and balloon-shaped ghost crabs. We caught some and then released them all. The coastal road alongside the beach is great for cycling, or you can rent an e-bike to enjoy the ocean views. In the evenings, you might even stumble upon some street vendors or activities. It's tranquil and scenic during the day, lively but not noisy at night – a stark contrast to the busy Huandao Road, which is constantly packed with people and traffic.
As for the hotel itself, it's sprawling and stunning. Every corner offers a picturesque spot, perfect for taking photos. The rooms are generously sized with high ceilings, creating a very spacious feel. If you opt for a sea-view room, the ocean vista is expansive and unobstructed, unlike some hotels where 'sea view' means straining to glimpse a distant, hazy ocean. The hotel also boasts comprehensive facilities, including a swimming pool, a water park, and a kids' club – everything you need. It's absolutely perfect for a relaxing three or four-day 'staycation' with children.
The staff members are generally friendly and professional. In particular, the pool attendants are very responsible and meticulous, strictly managing the area. They test and change the water daily, and the water quality was indeed much cleaner than at the state-owned hotel we stayed at previously. The hotel is conveniently located, about a 20-minute drive from Xiamen North Station and Jimei University Town.
I heard there are several breakfast venues, but we only tried the French restaurant. The selection wasn't huge, but the quality was excellent. They also offered local specialties like Shacha noodles, peanut soup, and Mianxian paste – a 'quality over quantity' approach, I'd say. Plus, kids under 1.2 meters eat for free.
The only minor drawback was that due to how busy the hotel was during our stay, there were some inevitable oversights in room cleaning. However, I personally found this understandable. As long as you don't have excessively strict hygiene requirements, it should be acceptable.
After two nights, my child declared that they want to come to Xiamen again next time, specifically insisting on staying at The Portman.

GGuest UserFacilities: The hotel is very new and smart. If you have any problems, you can find a robot to solve them. The children like it very much. The room is a bit small, and the sink is in the room, and there is no dry and wet separation.
Location: The location is very good. It only takes 5 minutes to go to the beach. It is also very convenient to eat. Zengcuo'an Snack Street is just outside.
Booked for two days. The only bad thing is that we came back at 3 pm and the room was not cleaned. Good service, and someone was arranged to solve it quickly.

NNinabouriAfter a long flight from Greece we arrived late at night in this beautiful hotel in Xiamen. The staff at the lobby was very helpful and informative and welcomed us with a kind smile. Our room was in the sixth floor, very clean and new. The building had two fast elevators. In every corner there was a vending machine that fulfilled every need. There was a robot for delivery in the rooms. The cleaning ladies kept our room refreshed and tidy everyday, clean towels and amenities. The shower water was always in the perfect temperature. The breakfast was serving extremely good quality and variety of food and there was free laundry service and gym at the facility. I need to point out the hospitality and kindness of the staff, which made our stay at the hotel feel like home. The neighborhood around the hotel is exactly what a traveller wishes for. There is a traditional market, very picturesque and beautiful, 24h shops, convenient stores, cafès, pharmacies, bars and all kinds of stores but at the same time the environment is tranquil and relaxed for the perfect holidays.The surrounding greenery and trees make everything so beautiful. I cannot express how satisfied we were for picking Xence Hotel for our stay in Xiamen. I really hope we come here again in the future.

The hotel is clean and smells good. Some staff can speak english but it will be a lot lot better if all of them can speak english. Overall it’s a 9/10 experience.

AAnonymous UserOK hotel, it’s a bit out of the way and you can hear the planes from the airport nearby. The rooms are quite dated and musky smelling - we had to change rooms as we requested a smoke free room but the first one had a strong smoke smell. We had a free morning but the pool was being renovated that day and the spa doesn’t open until 2pm. Also requested a Mountain View room but our view was looking straight at another building. Just didn’t live up to expectations or the other reviews.

MMiaw GWe booked the 4 bedrooms apartment, if you are here for the view you won’t be disappointed. Otherwise the place is like a hostel, whole building is used for room rental, and cafes, spa are on the same building. We were on 53rd floor and there is a cafe a few unit away. It seems that they can run any kind of business as they pleased. Mostly young adults and the place is very very busy, I guess it’s because it’s next to the university.
They make you register for check in on an app but all the gate and lift access system are broken. We came from B1 carpark and we can take the lift right up to the room without any security check, I was worried about security but it seems that there are cameras everywhere.
The apartment was disappointing as it was old and run down. The mahjong table was broken, the sofa are not comfortable, the shower room is mouldy and if you use the rain shower it will flood as the drainage is not efficient. The kitchen was fitted with Miele oven/washer/hood but they don’t seems to allow you to use it as they keep bedsheets and miscellaneous thing in all the drawers and oven. No utensils of any kind. We did make use of the big fridge though.
I do have to say the owner/housekeeper and cleaner are very responsive to all the requests, my aircon was broken and they send someone to fix it at 10pm, but can only be fixed the next day, luckily I have the spare room to sleep in for the 1st night. (Aircon is loud in the small room too, had to wear earplugs)
The view from the apartment is magnificent, period.
