Yes, you'll have a rough ferry ride with lacking AC from Batam and there is not much to explore on the small island except a small beach and a few pretty stairs leading down from the hotel through a bit of jungle.
However, the staff was extremely welcoming and friendly, the room is well designed, spacious and offers a wonderful view to surrounding islands, towards Singapore skyline as well as towards Batam.
You can enjoy the sunrise from the beautiful breakfast area and the sunset from the pool and bar area.
The in-house kitchen is fantastic, Pizza, Nasi Goreng, Salmon Rilettes were some of our highlights.
The gym is among the best I've seen in any hotel (and I've been to a few).
Right now there is still construction going on, so be prepared to hear some noise during the day.
However because a direct line from Singapore is not currently available, you have a chance to enjoy a very private stay at this luxury resort.
