First off, it's located in an alley. While the alley is cleaned every morning, it still tends to be a bit messy and dirty. One day, right after leaving the hotel, I even heard foreigners getting robbed right outside.
The hotel's hygiene is pretty subpar. The room reminded me of a 200-300 RMB hotel in China, so paying over 2000 for a night felt completely not worth it.
Plus, the soundproofing is terrible; you can hear conversations from the next room.
The room window opens directly onto a residential building, so when you open it, you see people's laundry hanging, and you can practically see into their homes. If someone in the building is cooking, the cooking fumes waft straight into your room, making the whole place stuffy.

I booked it in advance without knowing the situation and stayed for a few days, but every day I just wanted to check out and move somewhere else.
Its only advantage might be its convenient location and good transport links in Barcelona, but that also implies it's not a very safe area.
