It is said to be a converted monastery. The room decoration is relatively modern. There is a TV and refrigerator. The room is an attic with a skylight and a very high window. The bathroom also has a skylight. There is nothing wrong with it except that it is expensive. After all, it is a suburb. The hotel is warm, inviting, quaint, quiet, and comfortable. The breakfast, While not extravagant, is delicious and the kitchen staff is very friendly. The room is very comfortable and the complimentary cookies are a nice welcoming touch. The proximity to Hendon Central Station as well as kosher eateries was a huge plus. I look forward to returning.

The pillows were so good and I slept like a rock the breakfast was amazing the room is excellent I had the tain room the best ever but the TV did not work. There was a lift 2 stories and I loved it so much space amazing Internet and bacicly the best hotel I've stayed at so far in life

I am actually laid on the bed before checking out and couldn't be happier with our stay at The Pillar. I am a wheelchair user, and it is stressful trying to find truly accessible hotel rooms, but this one is including emergency pull cords by bed and shower, bars by toilet and a raised toilet, the seat in shower is bolted to the wall. Some people have said the Wi-Fi is bad, well we laid in bed and streamed shows from BBC iPlayer and 4 on Demand with no buffering! What really made this special was that a Chuppah was set up right outside our room and the central area soon filled with guests, and we got to watch this special moment which ended of course with a lot of singing! Breakfast was perfect, and the staff are very attentive, and over all I cannot fault our stay at this wonderful hotel.

The Pillar turned out to be many times better than expected. In a converted old monastery, a listed building full of character, but with up-to-date bathrooms and super soft towels. . The staff were amazingly helpful, even lent me 5 pounds to pay for the taxi as I did not have enough sterling currency on arrival. Sumptuous breakfast. There is no restaurant for mid day meals but snacks and hot drinks provided free of charge all day long. They provided a hot plate and urn for Shabbat meals that we bought in ourself. The location couldn’t be better in relation to Hendon, Golders Green, Brent Cross Mall, all within walking distance.

We booked day before, were told we could view available rooms and choose. On arrival the receptionist was very unfriendly, begrudgingly showed us rooms, which we didn't like sand did not justify £275 a night. While we were waiting in reception a guest complained about a problem in his room. We decided to leave; but we were not told would we be charged anyway. Afterwards found out that hotel took £275 off my card. I complained to the hotel and explained all the above and requested refund - not one bit sympathetic - no good will. My opinion: money grabbing rip off
