The Furness Railway Wetherspoon

Was in town for the football so popped in for a couple of ales. Usual J D Wetherspoon offering available here with several ales on cask plus the usual keg beers, wines and spirits. Excellent location right in the town centre and around the corner from the station. Alright for a couple of pints.

Usual J D Wetherspoon offering available here with several ales on cask plus the usual keg beers. As it was a Tuesday then took advantage of the excellent Steak Club deal with a Large Mixed Grill with a Pint of Guinness. Alright for a couple of pints.

Great stay at this hotel, very friendly welcome on arrival. Room quite clean tidy and the bathroom had a massive walk in shower which my granddaughter loved. Comfy clean beds. Thank you for a lovely stay. Bar below makes it easy for food and drinks if you don’t want to go far.

We stayed for 2 nights as was my uncles funeral, we came from Cornwall, my mum is in a wheelchair and my father every unsteady as both in there 80s. From the start with the booking phone call, they were amazing, our rooms were perfect, clean and welcoming with everything we needed, the staff went far beyond helpful, and very knowledgeable about taxis ect. The food and service in weatherspoons was wonderful 5 stars. We definitely stay again and tell everyone also. Its the place to stay.

Hi I'm just writing this review customer service is spot on my only problem is that none of the kitchen staff wear Gloves provided when handling other people's meals... This is unhygienic and unprofessional..I don't think any of the kitchen staff fully understand the reasons behind COSHH..or they would be wearing gloves...

The staff on Reception and Housekeeping were exceptionally friendly and chatty, such a great welcome. This being a big hotel it gets it's own dedicated Reception area accessed directly off the street through a separate door from the pub. 3 lifts is a bonus and everything is so smart, modern and appealing. My 1st floor room was to the side of the building and was a quiet haven. Super comfy bed, deep pillows and a decent duvet plus 2 comfortable chairs. THE most effective air con in a UK hotel at both ends of the temperature scale! Barrow is a bit depressing in areas of the town centre, especially on a Sunday when only a very few of the remaining shops open. However, widen your scope and there's some stunning statues and architecture to be found. Also a walk down to The Dock Museum opens up views and brings you to the retail park with all the shops which are missing from the town centre. The hotel is a flat 5 minute walk from the railway station and all key bus routes serves the stops nearby. Only downside was the big jump in price from the Sunday night to the Monday night.
