Novotel Basel City Reviews

The room size was alright, but the soundproofing was terrible; I could hear noise both at night and in the morning. The main issue is that the front desk charged a 100 franc deposit, and it still hasn't been refunded after more than ten days. There's no one to complain to, they just keep saying to wait, claiming it takes 14 business days for a refund!

Facilities: New Cleanliness: Very good Location: Close to the station Service: Good. The lady who came to make up the third bed had a great attitude. The room arrangement was excellent, really deserves praise. Chain hotels are always reliable.

Excellent staff and very easygoing.

Great room and comfortable beds. Walking distance took us 12 minutes walk from Basel SBB train station. Nevertheless it is easily located the hotel. Novotel hotel has a good breakfast with variety choices.

We had a fantastic stay. The location was great with good transport links. Perfect base for the Christmas markets. Would definitely recommend.

Found some hairs on the bed, location is good, not far away from the train station, and near the bus/tramway station.

Bathroom is spacious and clean

The whole journey was amazing. Switzerland is the cleanest country I’ve been to and this hotel fulfills my expectations. There weren’t toothpaste in the room so I left a note asking for it and the staff left a post it note with dental amenities in our bathroom after we left. Cutest thing I’ve experienced, would highly recommend this room too!

It was great stay

The room was very large by European standards, and I had a very comfortable stay. It's perfect for traveling. The receptionist helped me with early check-in. It was excellent value for money, highly recommended.

This hotel in Basel exceeded my expectations; there are many tram stops nearby. The receptionists were very welcoming and chatty. The facilities are modern, with air conditioning, and the breakfast was excellent. It's over a 15-minute walk to the tram stop, so taking a taxi in the evening is probably the best option. I felt the rooms facing the street were better than those in the inner courtyard.
