Nice place to stay over night , doesn’t have any local shops nearby , but it is not a problem. Such as many restaurants within 10 min walk

So many positives - really lovely staff at reception and breakfast; clean room with a comfy bed and good shower; and very very good breakfast (with extras like crumpets). However room is exceptionally hot. Fortunately it wasn’t too warm outside but the temperature was showing as 25 degrees in the room! There is a fan and the window opens slightly, which was enough for me in April, but this won’t cut it in the summer. Also very noisy above - lots of movement. Luckily stopped at 10:30 but I can imagine it would be a problem if guests upstairs wanted a later night. Probably just needs some refurbishment

Premier Inn needs to get it's act together. That's the second awful experience we've had staying with them and probably the last. The 'wonderful mattress' they shout about was rock hard and did our backs and necks in. The breakfast was excellent as was the service but having had no sleep it was difficult to fully appreciate them. The corner of our room hadn't been hoovered properly which was another put off. The Southend Airport Strawberry Fields PI stank of damp. We had an excellent experience in the Ipswich Central PI with a clean room and comfortable mattress. Premier Inn needs to address the inconsistency across it's hotels.

Exceptional staff! For other reasons my wife and I had a difficult week. But the staff at this Premier were quite simply excellent. Especially Terri Priest who checked us in first 3 nights. Her support for my disabled wife was exemplary in all respects. A difficult week but made easier by the Premier Inn Festival Park, Basildon.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was plenty large enough and warm. A nice hot, powerful shower. The hotel is very clean. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The chef was happy to cook vegetarian sausages. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Free car parking on site.

The worst experience ive had to endure staying in a hotel that i paid good money for Property stolen, staff inexperienced, no follow up from Whitbread, no customer service. They treat you so bad it will leave a rotten taste in your mouth. Use travelodge instead.

Hotel rooms are very hot no air con. Hotel itself is very tired needs upgrade. Bed is too high for shorter person. Bath is ok for very small person. Continental breakfast over charged for what is offered. Bread and pastries left uncovered to go hard. Tinned/ frozen fruit berry mix. Only 1 sort / flavoured yogurt. No porridge. Limited. Called 3 weeks before arrival to change my room from double to twin given family room and receive invoice to show change on arrival given double room when questioned replied we don’t have any other rooms. Staff ok and the guy on reception on the second and third day was very good helpful couldn’t do enough he needs a rise. Rooms were cleaned sort of most days with fresh towels.
