Travelodge Hotel - Basingstoke

From arrival to checkout, I have nothing but praise for the team we met at this hotel. Manager Sharon, always great for a chat, and always smiling. Danny, great checking, helping with any requests and generally all round great guy. Cheryl, great housekeeping and ready to help even in the early hours after a night out. Nothing was to much trouble for any of them. The room was completely perfect, clean, tidy and cool over a very hot summer weekend. I cannot fault the hotel at all, we had the best stay, again! My only warning, don't park under the trees!!!

While the hotel may look like it needs a bit of an upgrade, I cannot fault the friendless and helpfulness of the staff and the quality of sleep I've had over the 2 days I've spent here. The staff will go above and beyond to accommodate your requests, even getting me a hair dryer and iron/ironing board upon my request. The rooms are basic, but kept incredibly clean. The shower is a little weak but gets the job done. While the rooms get quite warm in the summer without Aircon, the hotel provides a fan in each room and open the windows before your arrival. The sound of the fan combined with the comfort of the bed lulled me to sleep each night without fail, and I've had some of the best quality sleep here than I've had in the last few weeks at home. I'm unsure of the cost of the breakfast as I was staying here for business, and the cost was paid for by my company, but for breakfast you get a little "breakfast box" that contains some cereal, water, milk, a pastry and a breakfast bar. Nothing fancy but more than enough to get your day started. I've been told they have a refresh planned in the coming months to update the hotel, so if you're looking for a decent place to rest your head, I couldn't recommend this hotel more.
