The Calm Resort & Spa
"Excellent hotel! We compared all the hotels along the coast, but ultimately chose and didn't regret picking Calm. Firstly, it has a fantastic beach with shaded areas and sun loungers. Secondly, after all our travels around Sri Lanka and staying in smaller hotels, we really wanted something more 'Turkey-esque,' and this hotel delivered – it's quite impressive and large. Thirdly, after battling big waves elsewhere in Sri Lanka, we were longing for a calm swim! We got all of this, although the water isn't perfectly clear because the very fine sand doesn't settle even with small waves. Everything else was super! Large rooms, great service, and attentive staff! We even got a complimentary room upgrade with direct ocean access. Overall, we experienced pure bliss and relaxation at this hotel. It's worth noting that Passikudah itself is a very small village, so it's best to eat at the hotel or nearby establishments. Buying groceries or alcohol is difficult, so if that's important to you, it's best to stock up in advance."
Riviera Resort
"Subject: Appreciation for Excellent Service and Support Dear Management Team, I would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation to Mr. Adhil, Resident Manager – Riviera Resort , Batticaloa, for his exceptional service, support, and professionalism. During our recent visit, Mr. Adhil kindly arranged dinner for 17 persons and generously waived the location/venue charge, which reflects his customer-focused approach and commitment to hospitality excellence. We were highly impressed by his efficient handling of the arrangements, attention to detail, and the way he managed and guided his staff to ensure smooth and pleasant service throughout. His leadership and coordination made the experience comfortable and memorable for all of us. We kindly request the management to take this as a positive note of appreciation for Mr. Adhil’s dedication, service quality, and effective team handling. He is truly an asset to Riviera Resort and its management. Once again, thank you to Mr. Adhil and the entire team for their outstanding support and hospitality. Yours sincerely, Dr.Hemantha De Silva Consultant Physician NHSL"
Amethyst Resort
"Great hotel, great beach, great service. Highly recommended. The team is unbelievable good - for example, resident manager itself spend an 3 hour trying to solve an trouble with my booking. Then they made an upgrade for me, saying: "Because you have to wait so long". Oh, guys. Again - you are great."
Amaya Beach Passikudah
"A luxurious hotel. Walking around it, you get the feeling you're staying in a 5-star Turkish hotel. The building's spacious areas—the lobby, hallways, and lounges—are large and airy. The spa center enhances this feeling. There's a large green area with plenty of sun loungers. The room is very large, practically a gym))) well-equipped and very comfortable. There's a large loggia with furniture for relaxing. The rooms are very well-cleaned, with frequent bed linen changes and daily towel changes. Staying in the room is truly a pleasant experience. The restaurant deserves special mention. The breakfast is excellent with a huge selection, even offering cheese and sausage. I also had dinner there for an additional fee, and the price was very reasonable. Plenty of fruit and desserts. A wide selection of meat and fish. I dropped off my laundry, and they returned it well-washed and ironed for next to nothing!!!))) Overall, the hotel would have left a completely positive impression, BUT there were a few things that were a bit disappointing: - The sea and the entrance to the sea. Even though the hotel is on the beachfront, the entry into the sea right on the shore is terrible. There's no entry!!! It's all riffles and small corals. If you want to swim, you have to go left along the shore. That's where the public beach begins, and it's packed with locals. Especially in the evening, it feels like they all come there to wash. I have nothing against locals, but there are just too many of them!!! You have to walk even further from the hotel, where the hotel grounds begin again. - Pool. The poor entry into the sea forces guests to swim in the pool. The pool is small and shallow. After using it the first time, I didn't feel like swimming there again. - Crows. There are plenty of them on all the beaches on the island, but here there were too many. (( Excellent, beautiful, spacious, and modern hotel right on the beach, but NO swimming. Excellent staff, simply wonderful))) So, decide for yourself."
Maalu Maalu Resort & Spa - Thema Collection
"During the recent New Year holiday season , my family and I had the pleasure of staying at Malu Malu Pasikudah, and I would like to take a moment to share our wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warmth and hospitality extended to us . The Bay an Uga Experience -Pasikuda
"The hotel is beyond praise. The staff are trying. Very clean. The food is delicious, we had a set menu for dinner, the quality of good Moscow restaurants, presentation and taste, well done guys. The breakfast is simple, but we were never hungry, everything is high quality. The beach is soft sand, the ocean, small waves, warm, we left wanting to cry. We got there longer than usual, the driver made a wrong turn and we ended up at the hotel 9 hours after landing. 9 hours on the road, it seems like nothing will help heal this wound)) but yeah Bay did it. This is a paradise with great guys, let's tip them, they deserve it!"
Kalkudah Beach House
"Fantastic house very well decorated spacious with beautiful gardens on the beach that is just for us and fishermen .The cuisine is excellent and service to the top . You feel really privileged to be there . I would have enjoyed stay more than 3 nights."
Sun Siyam Pasikudah
"We had a couple of days at this resort in Pasikudah and loved it! It is a lovely serene place with luxury inclusions and most importantly the friendly and courteous staff makes your stay even more special. In particular, Dilshan, Chef Indika, Likashan, Thirasha & Prashanth were outstanding. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and will be back for sure. Keep up the good work. Edward & Nirmala"

Breeze Pasikudah
"The rooms are incredible and the beach is lovely but this is NOT a 4* hotel. The rest of the place seems run down and not looked after, the gardens are a mess, volleyball court isn’t usable and I’ve not seen a children’s play area. Staff are scarce, there is no pool bar and you have to go in search of beach towels or drinks. The restaurant is extremely poor, long wait for service and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Food options weren’t available and beer was only put in the fridge when I asked for it, so I then had to wait for it to cool down before it was served, when food arrived it wasn’t great, felt like a quick microwave meal. Room initially had no hot water, which we had to wait to be fixed, there is nothing in the mini bar as advertised, you just get an empty fridge, hairdryer had to be requested and room was missing towels and robes etc on arrival. Rooms took a long time to be made up each day and again some towels and robes were not replenished and had to be requested again. Parts of the hotel were closed and lots of lights at night flickered. They also advertise that the hotel has a night club and a billiards room, we haven’t seen any sign of a nightclub and the billiards room is two pool tables, one completely out of use with tape over it and the other is extremity rundown, dusty and wonky that you can’t play a game on it properly. No staff ever gave us a briefing on arrival or told us about the hotel, we have had to explore, guess and ask questions. Staff have been somewhat helpful, they speak English but don’t seem to understand it when they’re asked questions. Hotel has a what’s app service but responses are very slow and even then not fully understood. It’s like it used to be a 4* hotel but it’s run by pirates 🏴☠️"
Marina Beach Passikudah
"Recently visited this hotel , basically I booked the Passivilla however the GM has graciously transferred us to Marina beach hotel due to the sandy beach facilities . The room sizes were big and the toilets are vey clean .All the staffs are very friendly .we had some lovely time at the beach with beach sports . I have to give a huge thanks to GM Janaka for his warm welcoming and hospitality . Lovely pool and the view was stunning . The food was average may be its a off season . I'll definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay"
Hotel East Lagoon
" In Batticaloa, it appears that hotel choices are somewhat limited. I found that The East Lagoon Hotel to be adequate for a few days’ stay. While the room and washroom were clean, the balcony area was a mess. The view from the room was quite nice but the balcony was too narrow and the walls too high to sit and enjoy it. Regardless, sitting down on the balcony was out of the question. I could overlook the cheap plastic chairs, but the fact that they were dirty was disappointing. On a positive note, the staff, particularly the manager, were friendly and helpful. However, we often had to track down a server whenever we visited the bar. The breakfast served was a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast, though it lacked a Western option. I must mention that I was under the impression that the checkout time was 12 pm, as indicated on ***********, and I'm unsure why we had to rush out at 11 am. "
Kay Jay Palms - Kalkudah
Laya Waves
"One of the best hotel I’ve ever been. Super satisfied. The food was amazing like literally the best. Couldn’t forget the staff. They were super friendly. They literally made us feel like we are one big family. How can I forget the view.not gonna lie we are missing that view now. We will definitely visit that place once again. Thank you for everything."
