The Calm Resort & Spa ★★★★★
"Excellent hotel! We compared all the hotels along the coast, but ultimately chose and didn't regret picking Calm. Firstly, it has a fantastic beach with shaded areas and sun loungers. Secondly, after all our travels around Sri Lanka and staying in smaller hotels, we really wanted something more 'Turkey-esque,' and this hotel delivered – it's quite impressive and large. Thirdly, after battling big waves elsewhere in Sri Lanka, we were longing for a calm swim! We got all of this, although the water isn't perfectly clear because the very fine sand doesn't settle even with small waves. Everything else was super! Large rooms, great service, and attentive staff! We even got a complimentary room upgrade with direct ocean access. Overall, we experienced pure bliss and relaxation at this hotel. It's worth noting that Passikudah itself is a very small village, so it's best to eat at the hotel or nearby establishments. Buying groceries or alcohol is difficult, so if that's important to you, it's best to stock up in advance."
Riviera Resort ★★
"A great resort with small cabanas and huts placed on a big area. Nice and friendly staff. The resort need some upgrade and refurbishment, and the service in the restaurant can be rather slow. The swimmingpool has a great location, but lack of maintenance."
Amaya Beach Passikudah ★★★★★
"The hotel is located next to a coral reef. It has a beautiful beach and a swimming pool. The only drawback was the noise at night due to the on-site restaurant."
Sunrise Pasikuda ★★★★★
"I liked the hotel. The balcony is very comfortable and welcoming – a table, chairs, and a sofa. The sea is stunning! The beach is clean, the water is turquoise. Everything works in the room. It's clean! I'm a little tired, but so far so good. The food was à la carte. Delicious! I liked that the chef interacts with each guest. The menu is more European (onion soup (good!), pumpkin soup, pork with sweet potato puree), but Sri Lankan cuisine is always present in the main course! Shrimp was always on the menu. For Sri Lanka, the hotel is good. It has its own atmosphere and ambiance, which is what we come to this country for. This isn't a European 5-star hotel. Sri Lankan – yes! The restaurant staff is sometimes overly attentive. Since the hotel wasn't very busy, there was too much attention."
Amethyst Resort ★★★★
"We arrived at Amethyst Resort, Pasikuda, earlier than the check-in time, but the front desk staff warmly welcomed us and arranged for us to enjoy the pool and beach until our room was ready – such a thoughtful start to our stay. A special mention goes to Samantha Weerasooriya, who looks after the restaurant. He made us feel right at home, showed the crocodiles to our kids (a big highlight for them!), and, when I had a bad headache one evening, went the extra mile to help me. Thank you to the entire team for the warm hospitality and to Samantha for his exceptional care. Highly recommended!"
Giman Free Beach Resort Pasikuda ★★★★
"I really enjoyed my stay at Giman Free Beach Resort, the atmosphere was very relaxing and quiet, my room was spacious and close to the beach, and overall it was a very pleasant experience."
The Bay an Uga Experience -Pasikuda ★★★★★
"The seaside, the scenery is pretty good, but the surrounding area is like a rural area"
Maalu Maalu Resort & Spa - Thema Collection ★★★★★
"Had a great experience here it’s clean, great atmosphere, superb staff especially with staff Chaney. Super friendly, always checking up on us and including us. Honestly made the stay 10x better!"
Karpaha Sands ★★★★★
"We had an amazing stay at Karpaha Sands. Everything about this place is designed to relax you, and everything is made remarkably easy for you. The rooms are very comfortable, and the outdoor shower was incredible to use. Food throughout was sublime, and the experiences such as the cinema under the stars and henna were very well organised. The beach similarly is clean, and the sea calm and empty. Staff are incredibly friendly and very efficient. This was an wonderful place to stay and we would love to be back."

Breeze Pasikudah
"The rooms are incredible and the beach is lovely but this is NOT a 4* hotel. The rest of the place seems run down and not looked after, the gardens are a mess, volleyball court isn’t usable and I’ve not seen a children’s play area. Staff are scarce, there is no pool bar and you have to go in search of beach towels or drinks. The restaurant is extremely poor, long wait for service and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Food options weren’t available and beer was only put in the fridge when I asked for it, so I then had to wait for it to cool down before it was served, when food arrived it wasn’t great, felt like a quick microwave meal. Room initially had no hot water, which we had to wait to be fixed, there is nothing in the mini bar as advertised, you just get an empty fridge, hairdryer had to be requested and room was missing towels and robes etc on arrival. Rooms took a long time to be made up each day and again some towels and robes were not replenished and had to be requested again. Parts of the hotel were closed and lots of lights at night flickered. They also advertise that the hotel has a night club and a billiards room, we haven’t seen any sign of a nightclub and the billiards room is two pool tables, one completely out of use with tape over it and the other is extremity rundown, dusty and wonky that you can’t play a game on it properly. No staff ever gave us a briefing on arrival or told us about the hotel, we have had to explore, guess and ask questions. Staff have been somewhat helpful, they speak English but don’t seem to understand it when they’re asked questions. Hotel has a what’s app service but responses are very slow and even then not fully understood. It’s like it used to be a 4* hotel but it’s run by pirates 🏴☠️"
Marina Beach Passikudah
"Recently visited this hotel , basically I booked the Passivilla however the GM has graciously transferred us to Marina beach hotel due to the sandy beach facilities . The room sizes were big and the toilets are vey clean .All the staffs are very friendly .we had some lovely time at the beach with beach sports . I have to give a huge thanks to GM Janaka for his warm welcoming and hospitality . Lovely pool and the view was stunning . The food was average may be its a off season . I'll definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay"
Laya Waves
"Delightful, 8-room hotel on the best strech of golden, sandy beach in Passikudah and arguably the whole island. Yes, the large, comfortable rooms could benefit from a little love here and there but the pool, the empty glowing beach, the wonderful staff and the amazing food more than makes up for a lose tap and some missing paint. This is probably the best value for money you can get when beaching in Sri Lanka, especially if you are not a hard core fan of vast luxury resorts, jetskis, tiktok swings and crowds. The beach, the calm, the kindness, the nature, the beach again...and by the way, did l mention the beach? Perfect!!!"
Kay Jay Beach House - Pasikudha
"We met up with our friends for a couple of nights at KayJay beach house. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They provided a great collection of meals from locally sourced seafood, some of it from the fisherman directly in front of the house! We had delicious crab curry, a seafood BBQ and fabulous prawns. The house is designed around a central living area with a view of the fishing boats and beach beyond. There were two pairs of double rooms set either side with a further double room. The rooms are air-conditioned, mosquito nets are provided. The ensuite bathrooms are clean with refreshing cold water showers. The small pool was most welcome after a stroll to the nearby Pasikudha beach. This is a lovely place to stay, ideal for a small group or couple of families who can have exclusive use of the venue."
