Cassia Cottage

I checked in on 30 June and stayed in the Modern Premium Room. I was first attracted to Cassia Cottage because I love beachfront resorts, and this property is located right by the sea. I chose the Modern Premium Room, which features a lovely open-air shower. The resort has a wonderful ambiance and beautiful surroundings that are incredibly relaxing. The amenities are well provided, and I appreciated the thoughtful welcome drink and fresh fruit platter upon arrival. All of the staff from the front desk and the food & beverage team to the housekeeping staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, making the stay even more enjoyable. The only small downside was the breakfast, which had a slightly limited selection. Other than that, I had a great experience and would happily stay here again.

The hotel's location is convenient, with many restaurants and massage shops nearby. There's a large Kingkong supermarket and another good-sized supermarket about a 20-minute walk (roughly 1 kilometer) away. The entire hotel area is quiet, with excellent landscaping and a beautiful private beach. The overall scenery is stunning. Breakfast is plentiful and served for a long period, from 6 AM to 1 PM, which is fantastic! They offer free airport transfers and even complimentary dessert cooking classes, archery, and pickleball. Some staff members provide excellent service, while others are just average and don't speak English. There are almost no Chinese-speaking staff.

A true boutique resort with character and soul. After a disappointing experience at another “luxury” resort, Chen Sea was exactly what we were looking for. What makes this place special is its unique identity. The architecture blends beautifully with nature, using wood, stone, and tropical gardens in a very authentic way. It is not a brand-new resort, but everything is exceptionally well maintained and clearly cared for. I had some doubts after reading a few reviews before arriving, but I am very happy we trusted our own feeling. Every guest has different expectations, but for us, Chen Sea deserves all the appreciation. The care and dedication of the staff, together with the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful surroundings, make this resort truly special. The resort also offers everything you need: a wonderful spa, great restaurant, a beautiful beachfront, and lovely spaces to enjoy nature, including the charming secret garden. Breakfast was excellent, with many fresh options, and the staff were genuinely kind, attentive, and always willing to help. Some reviews mention mosquitoes or the tropical heat, but these were not issues for us. With comfortable rooms, air conditioning, mosquito nets, the pool, and the sea, everything was easy to enjoy. If you are looking for authenticity, tranquillity, beautiful architecture, and heartfelt hospitality rather than a huge impersonal resort, Chen Sea is a wonderful choice. We would definitely return.

The hotel's location is excellent, about a 15-minute drive from the airport, and right next to a bar with fire shows! The villa offers great value for money, even having a private sauna and a large bathtub in the room. The breakfast is decent; while it's not on par with bigger hotels, it's more than sufficient and tastes good too.

Arrived at this hotel a day late due to airline cancellations. Pre paid hotel but were asked for a bit more money. Told them fully paid we owe you nothing. Taken to our beach bungalow which was stunning. Right on the beach end one so beautiful and quiet. Really was everything we wanted. First night had our meal and paid in cash. Following night told we still owed for this meal. They were told by my husband you’re been paid get it sorted an it was asap. Suggest keep tabs on your bill as there’s definitely gremlins in the works. After that seemed to get treated better as though they knew we weren’t going to be paying for things we didn’t owe. Could be amazing there but it’s truly full of plastic and rubbish everywhere. Seems like they remove it from A into B and it’s everywhere. No pride in there beautiful surroundings and no thought for conservation or wildlife. Really heartbreaking to witness. They are destroying a perfect paradise. The water around this hotel is dirty and full of rocks. Never gets deep enough to swim in and rips your feet to shreds. Food at breakfast was mainly for Asians and not appetising at all. Meals throughout the day were better. Plenty of choices and lots of everything so very good value but not top quality. Drinks were very reasonable beer only 50p a bottle and as so isolated that was really welcome. Did really enjoy being there and loved the island but broken by the filth and plastic they dump everywhere. Truly can’t understand how you could live in Heaven and turn it into Hell by putting profits first and destroying what people pay to see. Eventually no one will go to wade through plastic trash bottles and house hold waste.

This hotel gave me one of the best experiences I've ever had. From the moment I arrived, everything was spotless, and the service was truly exceptional—better than most five-star hotels. The rooms and bathrooms were sparkling clean, the swimming pool was wonderful, and the beach was beautiful. And the breakfast? Absolutely perfect.

In my opinion, this place does not deserve the enthusiastic reviews that other users leave. There are three main disadvantages and I recommend paying attention to them when choosing. Firstly, this is the territory, which looks completely unkempt. Of course, you can’t tell from the profile photo. There is a lot of construction waste, unkempt paths (some of which lead to nowhere or end in a path), dry bushes and stumps from felled trees. Along the sea line there is a path of sharp stones, which you can hurt your feet on, broken concrete and a mixture of sand and garbage. The outdoor shower at the exit from the sea almost does not work. The pool with sea water is full of dirt at the bottom. A sports ground for sad athletes, three old bicycles, one of which has had a flat tire all week, a cold main pool. All this looks sad. The second thing I would like to draw attention to is the restaurant. It has a specific menu, very expensive dishes compared to prices in other places (x3 to prices in restaurants on Long Beach), and, most importantly, the food is mostly not tasty. Well, or very much an acquired taste, and because of this you feel like a hostage of the situation - the area around the hotel is not a tourist place and one can say almost no alternatives. Breakfasts are meager, you choose eggs and drinks from the menu, there is also a buffet. There are no salads, the food is cold, all the juices are generously diluted with ice, there are almost no meat dishes. The staff in the restaurant smiles, but then forgets to bring you one omelet out of three. And not just once. The kitchen gives out dishes incredibly slowly during lunch and dinner, because 1-3 people work. And the third point. Small storms happen here due to the wind rose in the northern part of the island. For three days the wind blew from the north, it is impossible to go into the sea with big waves, a lot of garbage has accumulated near the shore due to the surf. On such days there is no possibility to swim even in sunny weather, although on the western part of the island at this time it is normal and the sea is calm. No one cleans up the garbage in the water even when everything has calmed down, you need to go further into the sea through it and then you can enjoy the clean water. In general, it would be fair to note that they are trying to slowly clean up the territory, but the scale of neglect is such that there is no chance to fix it unless some major reconstruction is carried out. Of course, there are positive impressions. In general, if you do not pay attention to all this mess, the hotel has a calm atmosphere, the staff is smiling and attentive, the sea is windless and further from the shore is clean. The rooms are large, the water in the shower is warm. There are all sorts of masks and fins for the sea near the pool. They try to clean the rooms, but not very much - in 6 days they did not change our beds. Apparently. We had to ask for this separately. The girls at the counter helped with calling a taxi. Despite the significant shortcomings and the relatively high cost of staying, we had a good rest. But I certainly wouldn’t repeat the experience or recommend this place to others.

The hotel's location is excellent, right in the city center. It's only a 5-minute walk to Kin Kong Supermarket, and the main street offers currency exchange, restaurants, and massage services. The hotel staff provide exceptional service, and there are many activities daily. There's a complimentary sunset cocktail reception for guests to enjoy. Linh is a kind girl who speaks Chinese, and Saw checked me in. Their service made me feel right at home.

My husband and I have stayed in various hotels, bungalows, and villas, and this was our third room, a standalone house right on the beachfront. We arrived a day before check-in, they showed us the rooms, and we booked it on the spot. The next day, we were immediately given the room key and checked in right away, no deposit needed. The room was clean, with daily housekeeping and replenishment of tea, shower gel, fresh towels, etc. Breakfast, like everywhere else, wasn't varied, but since we only stayed a few days, we didn't get tired of it. The beach is cleaned, but we arrived during the rough sea season, so trash was washing ashore constantly. There were some issues with sun loungers – broken, few in number, and only one mattress for all of them – but hardly anyone used them anyway, so we had enough. I'm a good swimmer, but at one point, I realized I might not be able to get out due to the waves, and there were no lifeguards, only a lifebuoy, so be careful! There's also a pool that the staff cleaned every evening. Overall, we liked everything, even more so than a much pricier villa slightly further north.

I stayed in a bungalow for a couple of days in February 2026. Overall, it's a decent hotel, livable, but the facilities are a bit dated and showing their age. The cleaning is good, and most importantly, the bed linen is clean! The grounds, however, are absolutely stunning! They're beautifully maintained with lovely lawns, flowers, and a waterfall. The pool is just so-so, and the breakfast is similar (not a huge buffet, but you'll always find something to eat).
