The events centre is a well-equipped venue for a conference. The conference rooms can often be very hot, despite having air conditioning available. The rooms are generally quite old fashioned however appear to have been recently redecorated and with new en-suite facilities. Bed is comfortable and shower is lovely. The food and drinks supplied as part of the event were generally good. The “Grab and Go” concept is supposed to reduce queueing times, though I’m not convinced it really works. Also, the fire alarm was tested at 8:20am on Tuesday morning with no warning, which was a bit frustrating. Not ideally located in terms of train stations but plenty of car parking available. Overall, a good venue for an enjoyable conference.

Whist check in is at 3 we needed to drop off our bags to attend a wedding an hour or so earlier. There was a room available but we would have had to pay £25 for early check in. Seemed an inflexible approach. The room was good, clean and comfortable. Good value for money. Breakfast was disappointing and definitely not good value for money. Uninspiring cold display. It was hard to put a complete cooked breakfast on a plate as items were continually missing so had to wait for the items to come out of the kitchen. You had to decide to eat it hot with what was there or eat it cold while waiting for items. Seemed to be a lack of staff. However, we appreciated what we did eat was freshly cooked rather than having sat on the hot trays for a long time. Paper cups for hot drinks, I think, is unacceptable when breakfast costs £18pp. I would stay at the hotel again if needed but would not opt for breakfast.

Was moved to lower standard property Willows Training Centre due to low occupancy at Woodlands Event Centre, so didn't get to actually stay here. Weren't going to reimburse difference in room rate, but gave me upgraded room when I complained. Staff all friendly, obviously trying hard to be eco friendly.

The rooms are basic but have nice shower rooms. The double beds are set up with 2 single mattresses which makes sleeping very uncomfortable due to the large gap down the middle. I liked that they have signs on the room saying they are committed to recycling but then at lunch you’re given hard to recycle cartons rather than plates. Add in the milk in the room was 2 months out of date and I wasn’t impressed
