Beijing Fuyou Street Hotel (Xidan Branch)

Great hotel, the staff were very helpful and the hotel was clean and nice.

The western commode was super dirty as you can see in the photo.

Fu You Jie Hotel is situated in the middle and about 10 minutes' walk from either Xidan station (line 1) and Lingjing Hutong station (line 4). I stayed for two weeks. It was an OK stay. My days are spent outdoors and only came back later in the evening to sleep so I didnt spend much time at the hotel. The place is in a quieter street but still within walking distance of Xidan shopping area and nearby major attractions such as Tiananmen Square and Palace Museum/Forbidden Palace. Staff do not speak English, which is expected but was disheartening when every time (three separate occasions) I tried to communicate in broken Chinese with some English they only show blink faces and turn away...Despite what it says on the hotel's site, there was no airport service, or if there were, I was given a curt, no answer. Cleanliness is OK. There was a small layer of dust on the lamp table on the other side of the bed. There was also a smell in the bathroom, had to use my body spray and got rid of it after a few days. There is daily housekeeping, but it was mainly to make the bed, take out trash, and add two bottles of water. Front door is not soundproof so you'll hear neighbors coming and going and if there are children, yelling and running. Breakfast is Chinese cuisine. I had it once. Overall, a good stay but if I visit Beijing again I will stay at another hotel.

The staff are really helpful, friendly and providing best services for us.. although it is a 3 stars hotel but their attitude is 4 to 5 star quality. The front door staff and the receptionist are really helpful and polite.

Arrived late at night, it was so easy to get there from BSouth R station. The reception was very warm and welcoming. They helped carry my bags to the room. Room had snacks and a fridge. In the morning headed for breakfast which is all Chinese cuisine. Asked for coffee and gladly assists me. I would definitely book again.

Spent 4 nights here. The room was small with no real window, but that's fine. Everything else was perfect. Great shower, really cold fridge, electrical bits were top notch. Everything was like new. The lack of a window meant a really dark night, which provided excellent sleep.

The staff were very friendly. The place is close to transit and plenty of shops. It is in downtown without being in the large crowds.

Location is close to major attractions but the hotel is in far from subway. Takes 10 minutes walk. Food around hotel is limited. Staff can only speak Chinese and the breakfast is Chinese menu. I would suggest this is good for Chinese travellers but could be challenging for expats.

Great location, very friendly staff, comfortable bed, relatively quiet street. For the price it’s a bit basic, but given the area can’t complain.
