The Pagoda Light Hotel

The service and ambiance were both excellent. The hot water was plentiful and at a perfect temperature. On the ground floor, there's a lounge area where you can enjoy tea and coffee. The third floor offers coffee and light meals, with the best spot for photographing the White Pagoda. The light meals include a mix of Chinese and Western options like pasta, roasted chicken, fries, chicken wings, along with beverages and coffee. Sunset is the best time for photos. Right next door is the Dongxi Intersection, and there are many great restaurants and drink shops nearby, all offering fantastic views of the White Pagoda.

It feels like a university dorm, not just a hotel but also a coffee shop and a study room. It was really nice for me since my plans for the next day were uncertain, making it easy to extend my stay. The transportation was also convenient.

The hotel's location is excellent, close to the White Pagoda, making it convenient to get around. My favorite part is the fruit shop across the street; the fruit is fresh, varied, and they often have promotions, plus the owner is very friendly. (I'm getting off-topic, haha!) There are also many unique shops in Xicha, right next to the hotel. The hotel itself has a great setup. The front part of the ground floor, and the entire third floor, is a cafe with a wonderful atmosphere and delicious coffee – perfect for a quiet moment. The back part of the ground floor and the second floor house the guest rooms, and the accommodations are very good, with decent cleanliness. The staff at check-in were lovely, both the young ladies and gentlemen, and their English was impressive. You see a lot of foreign guests here, which really shows how highly regarded it is by international visitors. Now, let's talk about the downsides. The bathroom and shower area are too close together and feel very cramped. It's also poorly ventilated; as soon as I pulled back the shower curtain, the air felt stifling. Another issue is the lack of a dedicated makeup area. I suggest installing one or two mirrors on the wall by the high stools on the ground floor to create a communal makeup spot. Also, a full-length mirror could be added to the wall in the corridor past the large table in the ground floor atrium for everyone's convenience. Lastly, my bed was right by the window, and I was woken up by the light around 6 AM. It would be great if curtains could be installed. Considering that Beijing is such a premium location, overall, the hotel's facilities are quite comprehensive and comfortable. I still highly recommend it.

The service was quite good, they even helped print my child's homework. The location is excellent, with popular hutongs like Dongxi Chahutong nearby, and it's very close to the Lu Xun Museum. There are also plenty of dining options. The main issue was that the road outside was under construction, and the metal plates laid down created a lot of noise when cars drove over them.

I chose this place for a one-night stay in Beijing, and overall it was decent, especially considering the price for Beijing. The front is a coffee shop, and the back and upstairs are a hostel. There's also a terrace where you can grab drinks and even see the White Pagoda. Each room has three bunk beds, but they're not always fully occupied. In my room, including myself, three of us were on bottom bunks, and everyone was pretty quiet. The restrooms and showers are shared, and the cleanliness and maintenance are just average. The nearest subway station is about a 10-minute walk, but there are plenty of food and drink options nearby.

Excellent experience, nice environment, and the terrace offers a view of the White Pagoda Temple.

The location is fantastic, right next to the White Pagoda Temple. The room is very spacious, well-equipped, and the service is excellent. There's also a cafe that's great for photos, and the rooftop cafe offers direct views of the White Pagoda Temple's interior. The alleyways on either side are also very picturesque.
