Friendship Hotel

The location is fantastic; it's super convenient to get to the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Beijing Institute of Technology. The atmosphere has a wonderful historical charm, and both the cleanliness and service are excellent. I was pleasantly surprised to find a collection of paintings from the Friendship Hotel in the suite – it was almost like having an art exhibition right in the room! They were all traditional Chinese paintings, a real accumulation of art from the last century, a treat for even an amateur enthusiast.

The room was cozy and the mattress was very comfortable, though the pillows were just average. The front desk staff were warm and attentive. It's conveniently located, about a 10-minute walk from the subway station. The hotel has lush landscaping and the surrounding area is pleasant. The hotel lobby is very grand.

We stayed in the Jingbin Building's family suite, which seemed to be a converted one-bedroom apartment previously used by experts. The room's facilities are relatively old, but it offers excellent value for money. The family suite is perfect for a family of several people traveling together.

Rooms this bad shouldn't exist in a city like Beijing, especially not at the Friendship Hotel. 1/ The overall environment is very good. 2/ The room is incredibly old and dated. 3/ Insects are flying around everywhere. 4/ Almost all the bathroom floor tiles are cracked. 5/ The room amenities are terrible; you have to turn off lights one by one with individual switches. 6/ The hygiene is the worst I've ever seen in any space! 7/ The front desk staff are unable to empathize with guests' reasonable suggestions and feedback. See the pictures – avoid the Jingbin Building; other buildings might be okay.

The room is very clean and comfortable, and the location is great. I usually stay here when I'm on a business trip to the west side.

The location is very convenient, right by Renmin University subway station. The hotel is quite large with a garden-style design, and it's pleasant to stroll around. The rooms are a bit old, but they are kept very clean.

I booked this last minute and it was absolutely great. The newly renovated room was very clean, and the facilities were also new, including a smart toilet. It really lives up to its reputation as an established hotel; all the room details are well-designed and convenient. The environment is beautiful and quiet, and I felt very safe. The staff were patient, had excellent attitudes, and spoke very politely. Taxis can drop you off right downstairs. The only minor flaw is that the motion-sensor night light by the bed is a bit too sensitive; it turns on every time I shift in bed. I hope they can adjust that.

Built in 1954 to accommodate Soviet experts assisting China, the Beijing Friendship Hotel was once Asia's largest garden-style hotel. It's located near Zhongguancun and boasts an elegant environment.
