When the quaint Wuzhen-like water town, with its grey bricks and black tiles, dons its Christmas attire, winter is no longer just a monotonous white. Beautifully decorated Christmas trees and lights as dazzling as a starry river transform the scene. To experience the unique charm of a northern water town, my family and I stayed at the Gubei Star Hotel in Gubei Water Town. To my surprise, we encountered one pleasant surprise after another! 💕 1️⃣ Gubei Water Town offered free admission throughout December! 🎫 That saved us over 200 CNY for two people. 2️⃣ Free shuttle bus rides made exploring the water town a breeze. 🚌 3️⃣ Drone shows, light displays, and musical fountain shows were all free of charge. 4️⃣ We received complimentary hot spring tickets, 🛁 allowing us to enjoy a warm soak in the winter. ♨️ 📍 Gubei Star Hotel boasts an excellent location, just a five-minute walk from Riyue Island. 🏠 The hotel has over 300 rooms, possibly making it the largest hotel within the scenic area. Our room was incredibly spacious, bright, elegant, and fresh. 🛏️ The bedding was clean, tidy, soft, and comfortable. ☕️ The room even had a capsule coffee machine with two complimentary coffee capsules. 🛋️ Next to the window, there was a small side table beside the sofa, perfect for writing or holding books and coffee – very practical. 🖼️ The lobby had several elegant and comfortable seating areas. 🍛 Breakfast was absolutely fantastic with a wide variety of choices – a must-try! Check-in was quick and convenient, and the hotel staff were warm, thoughtful, and meticulous. We even received a complimentary room upgrade this time, offering views of the Yuantong Pagoda and the surrounding night scenery. We were absolutely thrilled! 🥳

Staying at the Gubei Light Hotel was truly excellent value for money. The all-in-one package made the whole experience incredibly enjoyable! The package included tickets to Gubei Water Town, the Great Wall, and the cable car, plus a hot spring experience. It saved us so much hassle and time from having to plan and buy tickets separately. We just packed our bags and started exploring! I have to specially commend the hotel's breakfast – the selection was incredibly rich, with Chinese dim sum, Western dishes, and fresh fruits and vegetables all available. The presentation was exquisite, and the quality was top-notch, giving it a very premium feel. Every morning, we ate to our heart's content. The rooms were generally clean, comfortable, and spacious, making for a very pleasant stay. However, there's one small drawback I should mention: there's quite a difference in room views. Among the several rooms our group booked, only two had decent exterior views, while the others faced inwards with rather ordinary scenery. Aside from the minor issue with the views, the hotel offers great value for money. Whether you're traveling with family or friends, it's an excellent choice for accommodation in Gubei Water Town. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit!

We had an absolutely amazing stay! The hotel is gorgeous—really beautiful inside and out. The service was top-notch, with everyone being so friendly and helpful. And the breakfast was delicious, with tons of high-quality options. The best part though was definitely the hot springs that came with the hotel; they were incredible and so relaxing. We had such a fantastic time and would come back in a heartbeat.

The service was impeccable, truly VIP treatment. From luggage assistance to room arrangements, everything was thoughtfully taken care of. We brought our child to see the Great Wall, experience history, and enjoy the water town culture. It was a happy trip until we left. We'll definitely come back to stay for a couple of days and experience the hot springs!

It was pretty good. The private hot spring was excellent, perfect for families with kids and elderly. Gubei Water Town in winter is a bit desolate though, but the price was right. I'd definitely come back in winter again. Overall, a very good experience.

Every time I visit Gubei Water Town, I always choose Gubei Zhiguang. Firstly, its location is superb, right in the heart of the town. Secondly, the service is excellent. We originally booked for two nights, but due to personal reasons, we had to cancel one night. Manager Tong proactively helped us coordinate everything, and the service attitude was truly outstanding. I'll definitely stay at Gubei Zhiguang again on my next visit!

Great location, right in the heart of the scenic area, making it convenient to get everywhere. There's even a shuttle bus right outside the entrance. The room layout is well-designed and quite functional, though it is a bit dated. The environment is pleasant, comfortable, and convenient. The staff are very friendly, always ready to help, and proactive in offering assistance. Breakfast is definitely the highlight – a wide variety of options and delicious, though it does get quite crowded.

1. The price was great, and the room was new and spacious. The bathroom and shower area were a bit small, but the wet and dry areas were separated. 2. From the window, you could see the majestic Great Wall, and at night, it looked like a brilliant, continuous dragon. 3. The complimentary couple's meal in the package was good, and the restaurant environment was pleasant. Breakfast was served in a tea restaurant (or something similar) on the third floor of the accommodation area, with a good variety of choices. Due to time constraints, I didn't explore the gym or swimming areas. 4. The location was excellent, just a short walk up from Sun and Moon Island, making the shuttle bus access very convenient.

A very pleasant leisure trip. Manager Tong from the hotel contacted me in advance to provide directions and check-in procedures. Upon learning that I was traveling with elderly family members and a child and had booked two rooms, he arranged for connecting rooms and upgraded our room type, offering a view of the Great Wall from the window. My elderly family members even watched the drone show from the room at night. Additionally, since our package included meals for two, the restaurant thoughtfully changed the menu items for us on both days. I'm truly grateful and very satisfied.

We had a wonderful stay at the Resort. The view of the Great Wall is breathtaking and truly a unique highlight. The breakfast buffet offers a great variety of high-quality options, the room is comfortable and well-designed, and the hot spring area is fantastic. Areas for improvement: 1.language barrier: it would be very helpful if front desk staff speaks basic English to assist international travelers. 2. room amenities: for a luxury resort, the mini-fridge was surprisingly empty.

The location and hotel facilities are among the best in the scenic area. The breakfast offers a wide variety, and the pool and hot spring facilities are excellent. The family room is perfect for staying with seniors and children.
