The Inn is run by a lovely, friendly young couple. Very helpful and enthusiastic in their service. The Inn is located at the end of the water town, practically next to the Simatai great wall cable car entrance and very near to one of the hotel hot springs. 1.The price of the Inn included entrance tickets into the water town (apparently you have to pay separately for entrance into the water town if your hotel is outside the town or if your hotel package doesn't include the entrance fee). 2. Also included are entrance tickets to the Simatai great wall but not the cable car. You need to pay separately for cable car up/down the wall. Single cable car ticket 130rmb. Return cable car ticket 200rmb. 3. Discount entrance ticket to the Simatai great wall at night. Normal price 220rmb. Discount price 120rmb. 4. Free shuttle bus ride within the water town. Very useful when you have luggage to carry or just want to go back/forth around town. 5. Traditional Chinese breakfast every morning 7.30 - 9.30am 6. Two free entrance tickets to use the hot springs. I really enjoyed my stay here. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here. Gubei is a beautiful water town, well worth a visit. This place is definitely worth a visit. It's huge inside and uniformly managed. The hotel is very large with many rooms, but the quality of the staff varies. Some front desk staff are excellent, while others are quite poor, but since they don't wear name tags, I can't identify specific individuals. On my floor, I was fortunate to meet a wonderful and very responsible auntie (Liang Chunyu). She was very dedicated, helpful, and explained everything I asked clearly. The Great Wall tickets are a bit pricey at over 200 yuan per person. Parking overnight at the hotel also costs 25 yuan, which feels a bit stingy for a hotel of this caliber. Overall, the dining, lodging, and entertainment within this ancient town are pretty good.

Every time I visit Gubei, I stay here. The location is excellent, and the service is great. The owner's little daughter is super cute ☺️. The breakfast is delicious, and the place is very clean. The firework show (Datiehua) is right behind the inn, and you can see it from the window.

This was my first time visiting Gubei Water Town, and I booked a family room with three beds at the Gubei Zhiguang Resort Hotel. Before check-in, Manager Tong contacted me via WeChat, providing a detailed explanation of the check-in process and even sending me the scenic area's mini-program. Thanks to this, everything from dining to accommodation and activities went incredibly smoothly, and I had a fantastic time! After checking out, I realized I'd left some clothes in the room. I immediately contacted Manager Tong, who promptly checked the room, found my clothes, and even arranged for them to be couriered to me, allowing me to continue my trip worry-free! This trip to the Water Town was truly worthwhile; the service at Gubei Zhiguang Resort Hotel was top-notch, making me feel right at home! Thumbs up! 👍👍👍 Time was short, but I'll definitely be back to hike the Great Wall next time. 😊

I enjoyed my stay at Wangta Inn, the staff were kind, patient and friendly when I expressed my poor mandarin. We used the translator app and they helped me the best they could. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. I'll miss the softness of the bed, it was perfect. The breakfast featured two types of porridge and side dishes, buns, potato, eggs, fruit and beverages. The kitchen staff were warm and considerate, offering fried egg and a dragon boat specialty at the time of my stay. Truly kind hearts even though my language was a barrier. The location is by the light and fire show, it does get noisy with a recording around 8pm and then there were usually two shows a night. I found a great way to drown out the noise when I was in my room was to turn on the AC. The show ended by 10pm and was quiet afterwards. I enjoyed my sleep there and my bedroom window had a view of the Great Wall far beyond the village. At night I was able to see the outline of the lights. Highly recommend this inn for the convenience, kind staff and soft bed.

Service: The innkeepers were incredibly friendly and helpful, and their food was absolutely delicious! At first, I even asked the owner if they could serve a smaller portion of the multigrain steamed buns, worried we wouldn't finish them, but they brought the full order anyway. My mom and I ended up eating every last one – they were that good! 😋 Environment: The inn rooms are well-equipped, quiet, and clean, with a charming old-town feel. Most importantly, the inn's location is perfect; it's super quiet, and we slept wonderfully at night, which is so important! Summary: If you're visiting Gubei Water Town, stay at Yinghua Inn! It's fantastic value for money! We'll definitely choose to stay here again next time ~

The location of the Inn is peaceful as it is near the riverbank and it is very close to the square as well. I have the view of the river and the lighted up Great Wall at night from my room. The lady boss was very friendly and helpful in providing us the direction of the hot spring. We had our lunch in the restaurant and the braised beef was tasty. The homely breakfast provided was delicious. Beside the normal porridge, steamed bun and toast provided, there were also choices of wanton soup and noodles soup which they prepared for us upon ordering Highly recommend..!!

1. The friendly service attitude of the hotel staff was the first thing I appreciated most. 2. The architectural style of the hotel's courtyard (siheyuan) was a highlight I had to discover myself, rather than it being prominently advertised by the hotel. This was a bit of a shame, but I truly loved the traditional Beijing siheyuan feel. 3. The hotel is located in the most secluded corner of the Water Town area, offering a quiet and serene environment, which I really liked. 4. Although the hotel is quite a distance from the park entrance and the bustling Sun and Moon Island, the electric shuttle service provided by the park is excellent. This made it very convenient to return to the hotel to rest or to depart from the hotel to explore various scenic spots. 5. The breakfast was simple but offered a good variety, including vegetables and meat, both Chinese and Western options, three types of fruit, and American coffee from a bean-to-cup machine. Food items were replenished continuously, and the dining environment was comfortable and cozy. 6. The hotel is situated right next to the entrance of Simatai Great Wall, the park's main attraction, making it very convenient to return to the hotel after an evening tour. 7. It would be even better if hotel guests received more discounts for visiting attractions or dining at restaurants, especially if there were greater specials for dining at the hotel itself. This would definitely encourage more in-house guests to dine there. 8. A special thank you to the lady at the front desk for her incredibly thoughtful and detailed service on our check-out day. She helped us with our luggage and arranged for the shuttle to take us to the first parking lot. My wife and I were very touched by her warm service.

For our stay at Gubei Water Town, we chose Nalan Inn. As it's operated by the scenic area itself, it's reliable, with attentive service and meeting hygiene standards. The room was quiet, and our family slept very well. However, being outside the scenic area is somewhat inconvenient. Although it's only a few minutes' walk from the main entrance and allows unlimited entry and exit, having to pass through the visitor center each time is a bit of a hassle. For those traveling with elderly people or children, I recommend choosing a hotel inside the scenic area.

We found a bus to Gubei; it costs 48 yuan per person. They don't give change. There was a taxi driver nearby; we agreed on 200 yuan for three and went straight away. There's a shuttle from the parking lot to Gubei; you can easily hop on and ride to the end of the bus, where the information center is. At the information center, we found a check-in counter and were given a yellow slip with the hotel's address. We had a discount on two-night passes to Gubei (from the 8th to the 10th), for a total of 80 yuan per person. We had our faces scanned for access and went to check in at the hotel. The hotel is 200 meters from the information center. We showed the security guard the yellow slip, and they showed us where to go. We arrived around 12 noon and were checked in right away, which is great. The room was poorly cleaned, especially the bathroom (there were black hairs everywhere, even the walls). The room is tired and clearly in need of renovation (the bathroom countertop is cracked and the furniture is generally tired). There was a slight smell of sewage at first, but it disappeared. There's a sort of mini kitchen, but no utensils (just drawers and a sink). The second toilet could have been improved. Pros: good pillows, split air conditioning in each room (which is the only way to warm up when it's cold), a bathtub with hot water, and helpful staff. The information center is nearby. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, and all staff have translators. We took bus route 6 back to Beijing from parking lot P2 (it costs 4 yuan in cash or 2 WeChat, I didn't accept anything else). It's a 30-minute ride to Gubeika Train Station. A 12 yuan ticket to Beijing North Railway Station takes about 2 hours.
