Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort Reviews

We only had two nights but enjoyed our stay. We especially loved the big double bath and massive bed and good quality linens. They organised a lovely small birthday cake which was much appreciated. We managed to get a free glass bottom boat trip there which we enjoyed. We ate in The Mercado and Edgewater and both were very good.

How come this hotel is classified as 5star? It is old and not well maintained. Major hazards also with the open electrical boards. The dining rooms are not air conditioned so eating is not a comfortable experience. As for the food, small worms in food is totally unacceptable. Not recommended at all.

The room was very spacious and comfortable.

The best part of the hotel is the lagoon in front of the hotel - if you are into snorkelling. When the tide is high you can see a lot. But you should bring your own mask, snorket, fins, unless you are willing to pay 12 Euros per hour for a set. The property is sprawling. Lots of pleasant walking around. Two restaurants, with the By the Water one much better than Mercado (buffet). Book it for all night right away when you arrive. There are 180 rooms in the hotel and the By the Water restaurant takes about 50 (my guess) guests per night. This also means that there are long waits during dinner (easily 2-hour sessions). Rooms show their age but are still good. Keep light off in the evening; otherwise there will be mosquitos. Keep any food away from the room; otherwise you can have a visitor (a mouse). We were in a larger room with access to the Plantation where it is possible to have breakfast, snacks, and a semi-private pool. But this costs extra, and I am now not sure if it is worth it. There are some water activities, but they are limited either by the way the beach is (kayak) or how often they are run (snorklering and glass bottom boat trips). The pool is nice. Overall, a very good stay for 4 nights. But check when you are going. We paid a lot because it was over the New Year. We had a breakfast/dinner package, and even with that, we had to pay an extra 80 euros per head for the New Year's dinner (not including wine). New Years activities were good: a live band, DJ, some dancing, and a fire-swallowing show, plus HUGE 5-minute-long fireworks over the ocean.

Ok not amazing

Our stay at the Outrigger Beach Resort was simply fantastic and exceeded our expectations in every way. Upon arrival, we were immediately impressed by the clean and impeccably maintained grounds. This positive impression continued throughout our entire stay. The rooms are not only spotlessly clean but also remarkably quiet, ensuring we slept soundly every night. The bed was so comfortable that we didn't want to get up in the morning. The absolute highlight, however, is the staff. The entire team is exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always eager to fulfill every wish. Special praise goes to Sam from the restaurant! He's a truly wonderful guy whose warm personality and professional service made our meals something special. A real asset to the resort! The food was consistently delicious and fresh. The buffet was so varied that there was always something to suit every taste. In short: Excellent service, a stunning resort, and a team that clearly goes the extra mile. We will definitely be back and can wholeheartedly recommend the Outrigger Beach Resort! Thank you for an unforgettable time!

It's a hotel where you can feel comfortable. The room is large and the bed is wide and cozy. The buffet dinner is delicious, with many Indian curries. The beach is lovely and there are plenty of sun loungers. Some things in the hotel are a bit outdated.

A pleasant stay, good for 3 nights. The reception was excellent. We booked the junior suite overlooking the beach, so it was perfect! One small drawback was the restaurant, which was quite noisy in the morning (because it was very large and therefore very busy).

Check-in and check-out take too much time!

In December 2021, we were on holiday at this hotel. Even then, everything was quite old, the hotel needed renovation. But the food was normal, more or less clean and we were satisfied with a few days of stay. This time we were there for 4 days. Nothing has changed, the hotel has become completely old. The territory and good dinners in the restaurant on the beach save the day. Breakfast in the dining room is terrible, the tables and dishes are dirty, the food is bad. The cleaning of the rooms is so-so, it seems to be nothing, but dirt remains everywhere. The room was promised to be 63 meters, I personally measured it - at most 35. The hotel, thanks to "skillful management", has turned from 5 stars to 3 stars at most. An obvious problem with the leadership and management. I will never set foot here again. I do not recommend it.

Today was great, the service was very satisfactory. Clean. Very good, the room was quite nice. It felt very comfortable. The experience was very good, and we arrived early and arranged a rest area.

A comfortable hotel for both families and couples. There are entertainments that are free for guests: sea, children's. The food is good. The only thing is that the bar is noisy until 11 pm and you can often hear your neighbors
