Dunkeld East Hotel
"The experience was incredible. Myself and my girlfriend went for the weekend after a very hectic business trip and so we were on the market for a well priced luxury mental cleanser. This trip was was perfect. We are big fans of the Touch Down Group's properties and this one did not disappoint, and I won't even get started with the salivating worthy food's! Well done team!"
Hoyohoyo Machadostud Lodge
Boven Villa
"I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Boven Villa Guesthouse. From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional, warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful in every detail. The retreat experience was truly revitalising, rejuvenating, and deeply relaxing. From the nature walks, grounding, reflective and creative activities, everything about the environment encouraged rest and reflection, making it the perfect escape from the busyness of everyday life. The atmosphere was calm and beautifully curated, allowing me to fully unwind and reconnect. A special mention must go to Jean, who was simply amazing. She created such a welcoming and peaceful space where it felt natural to relax, reflect, and bond. Her presence and care made the experience even more meaningful, and it’s clear she puts her heart into what she does. I left feeling refreshed, grounded, and grateful for the experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a restorative and memorable getaway. Thank You. Dankie. Ngiyabonga."
Walkersons Hotel & Spa
". Beautiful, peaceful, tranquil, well maintained property. Walks and hikes. We stayed self-catering and also enjoyed excellent service, food on occasion in hotel, including a surprise birthday cake. Visited the rehabilitation centre for birds of prey. Not far away is the quaint town of Dullstroom, Beer, coffee brewed at same place! Dullstroom parkrun was a challenge"
Rocky Drift Private Nature Reserve
"Spent a lovely three days with Warren and Sam at Rocky Drift. Great scenery, quiet (except for running water) and welcoming. Great place for walks up and down the valley and swimming in rock pools. Good food and huge portions. "
Cinzaco Dullstroom
"A lovely town, we were pleasantly surprised, as it was our first day in South Africa. It was a great place to start our trip. The hotel was excellent, and the owner was always helpful with our questions. I highly recommend it."
Dunkeld Country & Equestrian Estate
"I really cannot rate this place enough!! I have never written a review before and we have stayed all around the world. It really is the MOST magical place! The grounds are absolutely beautiful! On my evening runs I was 2 metres away from zebras! SO much wildlife! The horses are so beautiful and treated amazingly- tehey are let out every evening to roam the grounds freely and come back themselves every morning. I saw some horrible reviews so was nervous which is why I had to write. I cannot fault the place! The staff were amazing, the food was amazing. Make sure when you check in you ask for a map and ask for everything they have on offer as they don't really advertise. I would recommend on day 1 going for a long walk around the grounds and getting a feel for the place. The two restaurants are on opposite ends of the property so you have to drive and one is closer to games area and other side closer to reception where you book everything. So many amazing places for fly fishing (the kids and I had a lesson which we loved) and also the horse rides are an absolute must! We were walking at sunset through a huge zeal of zebras! It really was so amazing! We went from here to Camps bay in Cape Town and I preferred here. The rooms aren't fancy here more lot cabin like but very comfortable and well built two stories w kitchen/ bathroom/ large bedrooms and comfy beds. But the place is so beautiful you won't be in your rooms much! Dunks the town was quaint and gorgeous too with lovely shops and restaurants. Can you tell I loved the place haha . We will be back!!!"
Gooderson Kloppenheim Country Estate
"What a wonderful getaway! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, friendly, and incredibly inviting. Even though we only stayed for two nights, it honestly felt like we had enjoyed a full week’s holiday. The staff were exceptionally helpful throughout our stay, and it was clear that guest experience is a top priority. Stuart, the General Manager, was visible, attentive, and genuinely involved in ensuring everyone was comfortable and well looked after. The food was absolutely lovely — we can highly recommend both the mussels and the steak! The spa was another highlight, offering amazing treatments, excellent service, and very reasonable pricing. This is truly the perfect place to relax, unwind, and completely switch off. We would love to return again, especially with our children. We’ve previously visited another one of the group’s properties, Midlands Saddle and Trout, which we also loved and hope to visit again — but Kloppenheim Country Estate is honestly on another level. Thank you for spoiling us with such a fantastic weekend away!"
