Great hotel to use when arriving in Lima, especially at night. This hotel is less than ten minutes from the airport. Peruvians use it, but more foreigners and Americans (like myself) should follow suit. It is family-owned, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. It is off the main avenues, and is thus quiet. Yes, appearance is retro-historical, but they are renovating the lobby and making some good changes. Consider the price! The place is well-cared for, with a pleasant breakfast (US $5) option besides. I highly recommend this hotel, and plan to use it again myself. I always prefer authenticity and locals over the overpriced corporate chains.

The hotel, in my opinion, is a 2-star hotel. There is no elevator. The bathroom extractor fan doesn't work. It seems that they discriminate against you if you bought on sale. The receptionist on Friday afternoon and the one on Friday night were rude and didn't seem to want to work. The one on Friday night didn't even answer the phone and when you go down to ask for something, he doesn't speak to you, he keeps talking on his cell phone and doesn't give you the things. Ironically, the lady who seems to be the owner of the hotel was super friendly and attentive and the lady on Saturday morning was attentive.
