I cannot say enough about our stay at Medplaya Hotel Balmoral. Everything was just perfect. It was so clean and all staff were very efficient. The breakfast was amazing also. Well done to all, we will definitely be back.

A nice stay about 20 mins from the airport 31 euros by taxi. We had a very friendly welcome, the room was clean and tidy, the beds were comfy, great views from the room of the beach and the mountains. We had sun for most of the morning. Food was ok, warm but rarely hot. Although the soup was hot staff in the restaurant work hard, but didn't really chat or acknowledge you. Ask for a pool view if you want sun in the afternoon and evening. You can hire beach/pool towels from reception 5 euros each with 15 euro deposit.

I'm just back from my second stay in Hotel Alba Beach. Another great stay. The hotel is well located at the junction of Avda Las Palmeras and Avda Antonio Machado (the N340 coast road). There are nearby bus stops for coastal buses and also for service to Arroyo de la Miel and Benalmádena Pueblo. There are many nearby bars and restaurants to suit a tastes and budgets. The hotel rooms are comfortable and my only possible criticism is of the bathroom size but I have always visited alone so no problem. The staff throughout are friendly and helpful. The main bar is good and comfortable, entertainment is in an upstairs bar and so leaves the main bar more peaceful. I only had breakfasts so cannot comment on other dining. The breakfast offering is varied and comprehensive, it certainly provided a good start to my days!

Stayed in August. Basic hotel ok if you just want somewhere to lay with a nice balcony with sea view. Basic bathroom and bedroom. Could do with a refurb… Breakfast… ok, provided you get the freshly cooked pancakes etc. Dinner was a hit and misss. Entertainment was for the elders. Pool was small so we just used the beach which was literally opposite hotel, 2 min walk. Excellent location. Took a trip to Aqualand Torremolinos Water Park which was amazing!

I highly do not recommend the Alba Beach hotel. It does not match the price and quality, especially if you choose the upgraded rooms with a view of the pool and the sea, and if you choose dinner. The hotel is old - there is very little space in the rooms - the hotel lies that the rooms are 25 sq m, in reality the rooms are much smaller, it is difficult to pass through the beds even to the balcony. The hotel food is a disaster - especially when it comes to dinner. The food is mainly chicken and eggs.
