Apartamentos Playamar

My hubby and I stayed at these apartments last month. Staff are really good, nothing is too much trouble. Apartments are very spacious. Beds are very comfortable. Everything we needed. Love the location, can walk into the madness of the ***** but then can leave it all behind when you go home.

Great apartments, immaculately clean, nice furniture, spacious, well equipped kitchen. You do have to change your own sheets, just exchange at reception same for the towels. Staff are friendly and helpful, and nothing is a bother. Nice not having maids knocking on the door in the morning. HUGE balcony facing the sea, sun all day from 10.30 onwards. Great view from room 19. Only 2 rooms per level, so no noise from people passing by. Close to market and a leisurely stroll to the sea about 15 minutes. Plenty of places to eat and drink, shops close by and 2 big supermarkets nearby one being lidli. A couple of points that would make things a little more convenient. A shelf or 2 in the bathroom and / or hooks on the doors, cushions for the pool beds as they are sooo hard, the pool area is not very large. There was no directory for the phone if you needed someone in an emergency. However, im sure if you asked reception, they would tell you, would still be better in the room by the phone. We had a great time at Playamar. It's was nice to be away from the noisey *****. We will definitely be back.

Aged 76 and disabled, this was my first holiday abroad for 30+ years and a most excellent experience it was! The Playamar self-catering apartments are spotlessly clean everywhere. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are quiet and private with only two apartments per floor. I requested two apartments on the same floor and the staff kindly obliged me with two on floor 11. I was worried in case the lifts broke down, but I needn't have worried, as they functioned perfectly for the entire stay. The balconies are spacious and not overlooked at all. The views of Benidorm from the balconies are amazing, especially from the higher floors. There is a little bar to get drinks to have around the pool, which is small but clean, my granddaughters loved it. There are vending machines for coffee, bottled water and snacks, all at reasonable prices. The apartments are very well placed for all the Benidorm attractions and I hired a mobility scooter from Amigo24, who have an arrangement with the Playamar Apartments for free overnight parking and charging. The Coconut Bar, just yards from the entrance was amazing for breakfasts and lunches for both British and Spanish tastes. Even though I am vegetarian, I still managed to find plenty to eat and drink there. The apartments themselves were tastefully furnished with everything you could wish for for a comfortable family holiday. You can easily obtain clean sheets and towels from reception if needed. I would most definitely return here, it was excellent.

With what we paid, I was a bit dubious about what the apartments would be like, but I can honestly, they were top notch. From booking in, to booking out, we couldn’t have asked for anything more. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Everything was explained to us, regarding the towel and sheet changes, etc, and it was great knowing there was no rush to be up in a morning, to let a cleaner in. It wasn’t an issue having to take our rubbish out, we always do anyway, even when where we stay is serviced. The bins were literally just on the main road outside the apartment building anyway. The pool was more than adequate and there was no rush to get a bed. There is a little on site bar, and the prices were very good, on par with the bars, and even cheaper than some of them. I emailed asking for a high floor, and we were given room 22b, on the next to top floor. What a room. Spacious, spotlessly clean, the comfiest beds I have slept in abroad and a fantastic shower, with piping hot water, whatever time it was used. The views we had were breathtaking, and the balcony was a great size. We didn’t pay for air con, because with being so high up, our balcony doors were kept open 24/7, so it was always nice and cool. With only 2 apartments per floor, we weren’t bothered by any noise, and were never disturbed by any outside noise either. The apartments are in a great location, close to everything, with a great little cafe/bar right next door. Playamar, you certainly exceeded our expectations, and we will definitely be back to stay with you again

Just returned from my fourth stay at Playamar. Apartment 22B and we had friends below us in 21B. Check in was fast and smooth. The lovely Scottish lady on reception has been there years and she’s always very helpful. Apartment was clean and spacious as always, and had everything you need. YES these apartments are self-service. Read your welcome pack and it explains how to change bedding and towels. The apartments are very good value and you cannot expect a maid service for what you pay. Simply take your linen and towels to reception and change them when you want. It’s really that simple. Free WiFi is great and worked in all areas of the apartments, even 23 floors up! The staff are so friendly here. Some of the most helpful staff I have encountered in Benidorm. Every one of them welcomes you with a smile and they cannot do enough for you. They all speak very good English and are happy to chat to you. Drinks at the bar are very reasonably priced and you DONT pay for ice if you are ordering a drink, you only pay for ice if you have bought your drinks from supermarkets etc. The pool area is in the sun all day (a rarity for Benidorm) and it lovely, however, the pool was a little bit dirty but is was out of season so I guess if you want to use the pool, you accept there may be the odd bit of leaves etc. deffo could improve on the sun loungers as they were quite uncomfortable but again, reflected in the price you pay for the apartments. There seemed to be some refurbishments going on at the front entrance which was welcomed as it was quite tired before, but looks fab now with new lighting and tiles. Also saw lots of new washing machines etc being delivered during our stay. I absolutely recommend these apartments. The communal areas are spotlessly clean, the pool area is lovely and sunny all day, apartments are spacious with huge sunny balconies and the staff are fantastic.

Would recommend this hotel for location and cleanliness. Am normally funny about where I stay but I was impressed with this hotel. About a 5-10 minute walk into the main town, party ***** and beach, so you’re not right in the centre but a so you don’t hear the noise but close enough to walk in and out of. Spacious apartments and well equipped. Only a few things I say, they don’t have maid service so beds never got changed the whole week were there if you wanted fresh bedding this could be provided at reception but we got the impression that we would have to make the beds ourselves and we had to ask for fresh towels. If you want them everyday they charge you. You have to pay cups of ice to take to your room I got let off the first time but was told it would be charged if I wanted more. You have to take all your own rubbish out and put it in the bin down the street and put all your towels and bedding in a pile,but we didn’t do that. Hotel bar is cheap for drinks. Huge balcony we were on the 17 floor and had a view of the sea in the distance in between other hotels, however the balcony doors didn’t lock which we were not happy with as apartment didn’t feel fully secure. Hotel staff were friendly enough, there’s was 2 of them that were a bit funny with you sometimes and not as friendly as the others. Pool area was very quiet, and secluded but water was freezing cold and no cushions on the sun loungers. WiFi is free you get a code at Reception when you check in. Not the best signal on the balcony but pretty good in the room. Hairdryer in the bathroom, really good so don’t need to bring your hairdryer. The shower is really powerful too. Beds are firm but comfy enough we didn’t have any bother sleeping. Coconut bar just round the back of the hotel does good toasties and breakfasts, not badly priced, nice for a little afternoon snack and all day breakfasts. The sun was nice in the morning then went in the clouds about 12ish and became a bit windy around the pool, so we headed down to the beach where it’s lush and hot with a bit of a breeze lovely just sitting on the promenade people watching with some drinks. 6 euros a day to hire sun beds on the beach,so we didn’t mind just on the path or sand some days. There’s a great market just round the corner from the hotel on a Sunday and Wednesday. To get cheap clothes, shoes and bags, fresh fruit and veg. Not as good quality as the turkey markets but you can get stuff cheap. Great entertainment saw some great tributes and live shows, would highly recommended Liam Gallagher and Eminem ones. Also comedian Tony Scott and Gary George free shot in every bar along the ***** to get you in, however I’ve had enough tequila rose to last me a lifetime. Sticky star and Carmen the snake were an eye opener, but when in Benidorm it’s a must see. Neptunes bar from the tv series show was really lively attached to the Morgan’s tavern and crissy rock does a good comedy show in the bar next door, valentines. Hea
