Room chilly, only one radiatorworks, so there is a panelheater in the room which my husband had to turn on in the morning. The shower room was cold, heated by a very small towelheater. We didn'tbrave a shower. The bed was firm but comfortable. Breakfast disappointing. 1 teaspoon for tea/Coffee & yogurt between 2 of us. No bowl for cereal or spoon unless you used the 1 teaspoon. 1 knife between 2 of us. No butter for the crossaunt, meats or cheese, only jam. Not really a continental breakfast, more like style. Fruit juice and fresh milk in the fridge for the cereal, that you couldn't eat! You have to collect your breakfast from the sideboard and fridge on the landing and eat alone in your bedroom. There is nobody on premises overnight, in fact as we were the only guests, we were totally alone in the 'hotel'. There was nobody around in the morning to help resolve the problem of no cutlery or china. The door to the restaurant downstairs locked, so we couldn't sort this out. No instructions on checking out, where to leave the key. Calling this a hotel in not accurate, I'm not too sure what to call it. I would have preferred to discuss our disappointment in person but nobody was there.

Travelling home after a trip to Bournemouth decided to stop somewhere for lunch, and was very fortunate to come across this pub. Have a lovely lunch, great menu plenty of choice, served by a lovely young lady, very welcoming. Definitely recommend this pub and even though we are not local it would be worth the trip to visit again, which we plan to do.

As Walks Leader for our local Wareham Walkers group for older folk, we made arrangements in advance with the Royal Oak to go for refreshments after today’s walk to see the bluebells on Black Hill. The bluebells were at their best and so was the reception we had when we arrived at the Royal Oak! In fact I can’t remember a better welcome given by a pub or café at the end of one of our monthly away (from Wareham) walks! The service that Sherry and her staff provided was perfect as was the accommodation for us all in the special Post Office room. She even arranged for complementary plates of delicious biscuits to be provided for each table. Well done to everyone at the Royal Oak - we are sure to be back!

We stayed at the Royal Oak last week and would like to thank the team for a lovely meal and overnight sleep. The young lady who greeted us on arrival (I'm sorry I did not catch her name) was very welcoming and attentive and even ran after us into the street after our meal to explain what to do if we returned from our walk after the pub had closed. The purple room (Anglebury) is charming. It has the timeless feel of a traditional country inn and you feel that you have joined the ranks of merry travellers who have passed through Bere Regis in times past. Happily, the room conveys its old world charm with the luxuries which a 21st century might demand. A continental breakfast provided on a dresser on the landing for an additional £5 per person was good value for money, and although our stay was brief, we loved our time at the Royal Oak. PS - the church (almost) next door is well worth a visit to see the Turberville window.

The food was well worth the 1.7 mile walk for the 3 nights we stayed in the area. The pie, pizza and burger were excellent, as was the choice of beer. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The table sizes were good and we weren't too cramped next to another table. I'd definitly recommend the Royal Oak to anyone staying nearby or local.

Came across this beautiful place by chance. Initially visited on Saturday afternoon. Food was superb. Staff are excellent. The environment is clean and well presented. Lucked out and a table was available for Sunday lunch. Roast was absolutely beautiful. Had sides of cauliflower cheese and red cabbage- both lovely. Yorkshire puddings- superb!! Best Sunday lunch in a very, very long time and we eat out regularly. Will definitely be returning 👍

We enjoyed a lovely family Sunday lunch here. Good value for money, fresh, well cooked food all served in good time and with plenty of smiles! Would definitely eat here again! (Our only tiny criticism would be that the chicken burgers were a bit plain- perhaps some sauce or just a bit of seasoning would improve them?)

We had an amazing meal at The Royal Oak. Really delicious Duck noodle meal and Chickpea and lentil curry. The staff were so attentive and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Delicious local ice creams for pudding. Thank you to all the staff for making the evening so lovely and compliments to the chef for incredible dish creations.

Called in, on the off chance, on our way back to our B&B and had a lovely meal. It was just delicious. The staff were very pleasant and helpful (I am unable to eat chili, and the chef was quite happy to substitute). If we are near here at any time, we will certainly call in here to eat.
