There's no entry until the city tax is paid. So you're left standing on the street with your luggage, having to make the transfer before you can even get your key. The rooms are very small, the bedspreads are stained, and there's only one electrical outlet near the bed. There's no key for the shared shower. That's the summary of the first half hour. Who knows what else is in store...

My husband and I stayed at this B&B for three nights. We had a wonderful time. The B&B is very clean, new, and well-maintained. It's located in a new building. It has a parking space, and there are supermarkets, bars, pizzerias, and restaurants nearby. The main streets of Lower Bergamo (where the restricted traffic zone is located) are an easy ten-minute walk away, filled with shops and restaurants serving traditional cuisine. The funicular to visit Upper Bergamo is also close by, a twenty-minute walk away. The B&B manager, Mr. Egidio, is kind, helpful, and very friendly (something that's a bit rare in those parts). He offers very helpful advice on where to eat well in both Upper and Lower Bergamo. Based on our experience, both for the price and the cleanliness and the owner's helpfulness and kindness, I would highly recommend this lovely B&B.
