Heart of Gold Hostel & Capsules Berlin

Staying in the capsule was truly comfortable and secure. The capsules feature a lock that opens only with a key card, allowing me to safely store my belongings inside. However, I didn't care for the restrooms and showers; there was an unpleasant odor, and since they didn't look clean, I didn't want to bathe there. The bar area was really nice, offering complimentary tea and coffee. It also boasted a pleasant social space, thanks to its garden and bar. Its location in the city center—just a three-minute walk from the tram—made getting around very easy. Plus, the presence of nearby restaurants helped me feel safe at night as a solo traveler.

The hostel was clean, and the toilets were also spotless. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Location-wise, there is a u bahn station nearby, which is very convenient. Even if you choose not to take the train, most attractions are within walking distance from the hostel. Most importantly

Heart of Gold Hostel Berlin was extremely easy to find upon my arrival to Berlin Station. Immediately upon entering I could tell that this hostel had a certain kind of relaxed vibe to it. Not bad. If you arrive early and want to lock your bags but don't own a lock, you can rent one for a 10€ deposit. Check-in also requires a 10€ deposit. Both can be paid woth cash or card but when they return it upon departure, they will only give it back as cash. I was assigned a capsule on the first level and first thing I encountered was a guy walking in hit Itty bitty skivvies. Um, ok I guess. Again, relaxed vibe. The capsule was okay only with the door open. Close it ans it's like you're in a coffin. Hot, hot, hot, and very little air circulation. I brought that to the attention of thr front desk staff and later a guy told me that "the motor is running" so the fan is working. I took video... the motor may be heard but it def was not working. Felt like I was sweating buckets on night 2. Glad I didn't stay an extra night. Bathroom were relatively clean, byr toilet paper was not always installed. Also, ask for a towel if needed b'c it's not automatically offered. Breakfast is 10€ and was mainly vegan. Was not worth the cost imo. Anyhow... most staff were chill. Just don't like the low effort that was put in for checking about the fan in my capsule. There is no point in booking a capsule if you need to keep the door to it open to breathe. Anyhow... of that issue was fixed, I would stay again.

The location is good. The capsules are good.. U get ur privacy. I had an issue with the passkey but they fix it although it took some time to be fixed. The bathrooms were a bit dirty and no toilet rolls, hand soap etc. 10 € insurance is required when checking in.
