Sandy Glade Holiday Park

We went to Sandy Glade for our under 10s rugby tour this year. The park were fantastic and really helpful throughout booking and during our stay. General Manager David was approachable and helpful. Staff joined in the fun even the security where helpful and even taught some of our kids some pool tricks. Honestly couldn’t speak more highly of everyone at the park. We stayed in the a Gold Chalet which was modern clean and comfortable.

Had the best time was here for a fortnight the staff are all excellent go out there way to help the entertainment were good with the children as well as the adults the whole campsite is clean and tidy the food was brilliant and the music was amazing

As a seasoned traveller, this year marks my third vacation. However, this is the first time I’ve ever stayed in an assisted caravan. I've experienced all types of accommodation, from basic caravans to luxurious lodges with hot tubs. I am writing this review because I am utterly shocked and disappointed by the state of this caravan, especially considering that disabled individuals already face numerous challenges due to their disabilities. This particular caravan does feature some necessary facilities: a designated disabled parking space, a ramp for easy access, and two bedrooms equipped with single beds. Additionally, it includes a shower room with a seat, and all internal doors are wheelchair accessible. The kitchen appliances are designed to be accessible, with a low cooker and a floor fridge that includes a freezer box. The living area consists of an L-shaped sofa and a single sofa at the dining table, accompanied by two soft stools. However, the problems quickly become evident beyond these amenities. The shower room lacks a privacy curtain, making showering an uncomfortable experience. The sink’s single tap dispenses water at an excessively fast speed, there is no toilet roll holder, and there is no shelf for personal items. The cooker knobs are broken, making it impossible to determine whether the appliance is on or off. The gas fire in the lounge was incredibly stiff to turn on, and unless you bring matches, you might find yourself unable to use it. Some radiators are poorly calibrated, rendering the temperature settings unreliable (for example, setting 5 is hot, but setting 0 is also hot). The fridge is missing shelves and having one shelf limited storage space for perishables. The literature provided to us upon arrival as valued guests encourages writing reviews on TripAdvisor. It states that if there are any reasons we wouldn’t give them 5 out of 5, we should let them know during our stay so they can ensure we leave happy. So I am writing this review on TripAdvisor because, despite not needing assisted accommodation myself, I recognize the importance of providing suitable conditions for those who do. Unfortunately, it feels like the assisted caravan at John Fowler’s is merely a tick-box exercise to advertise accessibility. I find this unacceptable, as disabled people deserve better than poorly maintained accommodation. Those individuals face enough difficulties without the added stress of subpar accommodation. In conclusion, it does not require much effort to ensure that assisted accommodation is up to par. The current state of this caravan should be checked and rectified by staff, not left for customers to discover and endure. A little more care and attention could go a long way in providing a supportive and stress-free environment for all guests.

We’ve been coming to Sandy Glade for 8 years. This year has been the best so far! Lots of activities for the children throughout the day and fun entertainment on the evening. The entertainment staff this year are amazing. Great fun for kids and adults! Staff are always friendly and accommodation always clean. Highly recommend.

So we have been coming to the park twice a year for 8 years. We arrived alot later then normal but still was greated by the manager of the park who was pleased to see us. We unloaded and went to get shopping as we do. When we were sorting rooms out we wasn't happy with the cleanliness but popped up to the clubhouse and they sent the cleaning team straight away to sort it out for us. Next day as cooking the cooker broke (not the parks fault) Again popped up to club house and we got moved to a different location on the park to give maintenance team a chance to repair things without inconvenience to us.( was offered help to move accommodation) This accommodation clean, comfy, spacious. (Best holiday accommodation we have ever had) We made good use of the swimming pool and sauna, was nice temperature water and not to busy. Kids enjoyed every aspect of entertainment as did we. We cook most our meals but had an Indian takeaway as our weekly treat they deliver to park entrance. Short walk to the arcades and theme park, also a short walk to the beach. Was please that there is security on the door so only people on the park are allowed in. Little shop on site has all the essential items you require and has frendly staff. The drink at the bar I found reasonable prices and again frendly staff. All in all a fantastic holiday. Booked again for next time.

Although we stayed before and our chalet was not 100% , but the park was good, close to beach nice cafe, and great club house we chanced booking for a 4 night break in October another chalet this one was dirtier than the first, floors dirty, hand prints and splashes with what looked like ketchup up the wall, toilet had pee stains and dust on it, puddle of water on bathroom floor which was there all of our stay as needed to be mopped up (no mop), saucepan handles dangerously loose, patio window absolutely filthy, a tablet on bedroom floor by bed glad we spotted it before dogs got hold of it stuff left on the floor from previous people. staying. Beds unmade thought they were made up for arrival. We witnessed the so called cleaners go into a chalet opposite ours they sat on sofa on phones then put bedding outside, vacuumed then left no cleaning done no wonder place is so dirty. Such a shame as we like the park.
