It’s amazing experience staying at the Yha hostel

Lovely place, friendly staff. But having no hair dryer is not convenient.

This was our 2nd visit to Berwick, both times staying in the YHA. We enjoyed staying at the YHA so much that we came back! (OK, it was a few years between first visit and this one). Where do I start with how good this place is?! - Easy walk from the train station to the hostel (Newcastle-Edinburgh line.... what a stunning trip in either direction from Berwick!) - Spacious rooms, comfy beds. - Friendly staff - Hostel cafe has a great vibe - we particularly noticed when we popped back in to dry off on a particularly soggy Wednesday lunchtime and the reception/cafe area was packed! - Self cater kitchen is really well equipped and has decent space for a few people to all cook at the same time. - Great location! Really close to other cafés, restaraunts, bars, pubs. Easy to get to the train station and bus stops from here, going on coastal walks, and for exploring Berwick including doing the Lowry Trail.

My second stay in YHA Berwick & whenever I'm back I will book here again. Large roomy cafe / lounge with great staff and large rooms. This is one of the best YHA hostels I have stayed in.

The staff were super friendly full of knowledge regarding local are. Didnt have drinks facilities in room but did have fantastic kitchenette on top floor so don't forget to pack your teas and coffees. Lots communal areas for families with board games and books on offer as well as quiet spaces if you just needed to kick back and relax

Had a great stay at YHA Berwick with colleagues this September, enjoying an end of summer evening/day out. The hostel is nestled nicely just inside the garrison walls of the town, and gives great access to all the amenities close at hand. The team were all super friendly and helpful and looked after us well. The Warden Jon showed us the best place to get curry, and Matts mint green tracksuit bottoms were a top style choice. They were all super knowledgeable about the history of the building, and it was fascinating to find out about the historic fire that caused the whole place to lean over, and subsequent fixings to keep it standing! We also went on a boat trip whilst visiting, to view the seals, Gannets and beautiful views. It was a great moment to contemplate life and enjoy some late season sunshine. Lovely place 10/10

Overall a very good value place to stay, and as long as you know the place’s limits in advance you can plan round them. A bit on the basic side (no desk in the room, no towels, no dedicated wifi (something cloudy that didn’t work on 4th floor, so I tethered iPad to phone). toilet and shower a bit “military grade” but the price point was exceptional. Most of the staff were really friendly. Oh yeah there was a bit of a smell in the 4th floor corridor, but this was only in the corridor not in the room thankfully.

Room was tidy. Bed was comfortable Staff were friendly, approachable and informative.
