Hotel Akvamarín

Good valued accomodation, clean rooms with all necessary amenities, very nice pools and sauna included with the tickets and ski resorts are a short drive away. Visited a couple times already and it never dissapointed me. Great choice for a skiing holiday

I spent 5 wonderful days with my family in the hotel Akvamarin, Besenova. We booked two rooms and asked to be located close to each other. Although we were not promised anything for sure when we arrived we were given two rooms next to each other which we appreciated very much. The only downside is that you get one card per room which u need to use to get into your room. Most of the hotels I have been to give two cards per room. If you are coming as a group and each one of you want to do a different activity you can leave your room card at the reception and then whoever gets back to the hotel first can pick up the room card... staff is very friendly and helpful. We haven't really used the cleaning service as we care about the environment and don't need clean towels every day in return for displaying an environmental friendly tag on the door we received a hotel card which entitles you to a different freebie of your choice. I thought it was a nice touch. We were blessed with a wonderful weather but even if the weather is not the best there is so much to do. Air hockey inside and outside of the hotel, ping pong (bring your own rackets, the hotel's ones are very worn) xbox, pool table, volleyball,most of the activities are free!!! I recommend booking through TMRhotels where you can find offers from time to time and by booking through them you get a free entry to Tatralandia or cable cars. It is so worth it!!! We come to Besenova twice a year and never get disappointed. Food at the Bistro restaurant is reasonably priced or there are two supermarkets near by where you can get some food and prepare it in your kitchen which comes fully equipped including washing up liquid and a sponge. Bathroom has soap, body lotion and shower and hair gel. You get towels for outside, bathrobes, slippers! You get treated like at luxury resorts 😊 and booking through TMR you get a free daily access to the hotel spa (massage is not included) it's worth participating in a "Sauna rituals", they are amazing!Thank you Akvamarin staff for a great stay, can't wait to visit you again!

This is a completely overrated place given the services. I never write a review, but I just could not help sharing what this tourist trap really is. For instance, asking for an extra duvet (when they give you two tiny duvets I have only ever seen in SR) they charged €30,half board with absolutely no drink with your meal and when I asked for tap water (again all still water in SR is actually sparkling), I’ve been told that I can have it, but I will get charged for half a lemonade. The outside bar…. God forbid you ask for a glass with ice, you will get another charge of €2 for a plastic glass…. And I go on… an outside sun bend rental is €25, when you already paid €1,000 for 3 nights and if that wasn’t bad enough, the charge is the same for a bed indoors where all you get is a smell of chlorine. I think you get the picture, all in all not what they make it to be and definitely not worth it. It may be a good standard for the Czechs, Slovaks and Polish, but I am afraid to say, sadly not a service any other foreigner would expect for the price tag.
