Warm friendly atmosphere and the food was brilliant. Five star dining at reasonable prices. An extra special thank you to the lovely young gentleman Matt who went above and beyond to make our visit extra special, he really was the cherry on top of an excellent visit would go again.
Glyntwrog House

A lovely place set near Snowdonia. Smallish town close by (walking distance) that has good places to eat and drink. Glyntwrog House itself is a comfy place to stay. Good value, excellent and cosy rooms that really feels like a home away from home. A yummy breakfast that sets you up nicely for the day. Easy to find and good parking. Super wifi that is key in an area that challenges reception on your phone. But above all the host Sean. Full of help and advise for any traveller seeking adventure in the area or simply someone who is just a kind and funny guy that welcomes you to their establishment. He clearly is well respected in the area due to the fact he knows all the people close by and gives good advice on what to do, where to go along with places to eat and drink. Absolutely superb! Next time in the area I know where I already will be staying!!
Royal Oak Hotel

Stables Bar next door was packed, and we both fancied a Sunday roast, so opted to eat there - and very pleased we did. It was quiet for a Sunday, which again pleased us. We had a lovely table and was very well looked after by Ceri (thank you). Sunday lunch was around £22 for 2 courses (or more for 3). We both had the garlic mushrooms for a starter followed by the Welsh beef (cooked perfectly) with all the trimmings. The gravy was probably the best I've ever tasted. Some of the beef was a bit gristly but there was plenty of it. The swede was a bit too peppery for both of us but the rest was all delicious. We came away feeling fat, full and happy and slept the rest of the afternoon off on the campsite!
The Waterloo Hotel
4.3/596 Reviews
Stayed as part of a Charity 3 Peaks event with The Curtis Palmer Program. We arrived late, but made to feel welcome, and our 14 meals prepared without fuss. The accommodations in the chalets at the back were just luxurious, spotless, plenty of room, tea/coffee was aplenty. Beds super comfy, powerful and hot showers. Just what we needed before our climb up Snowdon the next day. Our breakfast was lovely too, plenty of tea/coffee and toast. And great Welsh Fry up.
Glan Aber Hotel

This hotel is in a perfect location in the centre of betws-y-coed. It has so much potential, but I don’t think they’re making the best of it. The garden area is so untidy and dirty and the outside areas are all dirty. Looking out of our second floor window was not pleasant because of all the rubbish that was around. The positives are the hot tub room. That was fabulous, although the steam room was not working and no discount was given. The staff were all so lovely and friendly and the breakfast was delicious and served with a smile. The bedrooms are quite old fashioned but clean and tidy. The whole hotel seems like it could do with a modernisation, but it was clean inside. I enjoyed my stay here because of the staff.
Y Giler Arms
4.1/541 Reviews
My wife and I had a two night camping stay at the Y Giler Arms at the end of August and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It’s a small camp site but it had everything we needed, the grounds, shower blocks and bathrooms were all clean and tidy plus we slept well as the all other campers were quiet and respectful. Best of all we ate and drank in the attached pub on both evenings, the food was good, well priced and we had a great time. The restaurant was extremely busy on the second night and I know some customers weren’t happy with their food delays but that wasn’t a problem for us and we found the staff to be hard working, friendly and professional, we’ll definitely be revisiting the Y Giler.
