Keswick Reach Lodge Retreat

Terrible customer service, we had a lot of problems which the manager really couldn’t care less about unhelpful and rude. Beware that everything needs a cash deposit and there are no cash points on site. No heating for 2 days as the first day the guy didn’t resolve the problem. I paid extra for a hot tub which we couldn’t dry towels and we didn’t have cash to get the deposit for robes and extra towels. Disgusting stained and dirty sofa, useless broken kitchen utensils, lots of finishing touches needed to get the cabin up to standard. If relaxing in the evening after days out walking are your thing, bring your own dvd player or way of watching movies as this costs extra which you need a cash deposit for. And do not expect any apologies from the abrupt rude manager in the reception. Also on arrival if you get there a little bit earlier which most ppl do you will get turned away even at 3:40 and then at 3:50 there was 50 ppl in the queue. Overall a lovely location which the Lake District is but I wouldn’t use this company again extremely unhelpful if there’s a problem.

When we arrived check in was fast and informative. We were allocated lodge 85 (Walpole premier). The lodge was very spacious, overlooked the pond as well which was lovely. The hot tub is well maintained. TV and wifi worked perfect. The cleanliness of the lodge was OK, lots of dust and quite a few spiders. In some places the lodge was looking a bit tired however this didn’t impact our stay. There is a small corner shop next to reception, this is expensive, I recommend getting a supermarket delivery, there is an allocated spot at the front of the park for this. We had food in the restaurant one evening, and it was fabulous. We had fish & chips and curry, the presentation was lovely and portion sizes big. We ordered cocktails which tasted amazing. All served by very efficient and friendly staff. The location of the park is quiet and secluded, i would recommend having a car to get around in, plenty of walks and things to do within an hour drive. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and we will be rebooking soon, thank you to all the staff

Lovely site. Met at reception with manners and helpful staff. Had a coffee and they came to us when lodge was ready as we were early. The lodge was spotless, huge and amazing. Great open living room and kitchen. All appliances new. Breakfast bar and dining table which was nice to eat at. Lights on dimmers. Nice wooden beams over head. Just a lovely place to stay. Log burner was ace at night. Nice bedroom with comfy bed and walk in wardrobe. Lots of drawers and space. Huge Bathroom which had 2 sinks, double bath and large shower. Toilet separate behind door that closes which is good. The bar and restaurant looked great but we never used them. Site was quiet and peaceful and 20 mins from keswick and other good places to visit. Also has a spa and pool but again we didn't use these. Have to book a time, and it's £15 for an hour if you fancy it. Had an amazing 3 nights and would definitely go back.

Lovely parked just passed bathenwaite lake. Lodges are really nice and clean. Park very well maintained. It's a good drive into Keswick though. I would say at least 14 minute drive. Take shopping with you as it's a fair distance to a supermarket

Lodge was very clean,warm and spacious,nice to have 3 separate showers,all utensils needed are supplied,with the exception of a pair of jitchen scissors,they would have been handy,altho we didn't eat in the restaurant meals looked very nice,staff lovely ,fun quiz nite and great entertainment by Glen Walker on the Wednesday nite,who entertained us with music from all genres.

We use keswick reach a couple times of year and have always found the lodges to be clean and tidy. On this occasion we felt the lodge was really grubby and tired. The oven shelves were dangerous as they were after market expandable shelves which did not fit correctly and we had to eat out every night. The fridge was also dirty and we put milk in the door shelf for it to immediately fall off with milk in tow. Luckily caught the milk before any huge mishaps. Really disappointed with the stay on this occasion and will think twice about returning.
