River Bank Jungle Resort

Incredible place to stay in! We had such an amazing experience with the jungle safari, canoeing and cultural dances Chitwan is famous for, while staying fully immersed in modern swimming pools, restaurants with top-notch food and villas with all sort of facilities you can imagine. The staff are kind and helpful, and especially the guide who toured us around basically the whole of the national park and its rivers! We had an amazing time here and would definitely recommend others to pay a visit. Was one of the best places I visited in recent times.

There are many hotels in Chitwan for jungle safaris, but Riverbank Jungle Resort stands out for its peaceful location. It’s situated away from the town, by a beautiful river where rhinos and crocodiles sometimes appear, surrounded by rice fields and a picturesque village setting. There are no restaurants nearby, but during our four-day stay, we enjoyed delicious meals for every breakfast, lunch, and dinner — they offer Nepali, Chinese, and Western dishes upon request. The staff were all very kind and attentive, always making sure we were comfortable. Beyond the safari, we also had the chance to learn about Tharu culture through a village visit, cycling, and even a traditional dance performance. Our main reason for visiting was the jungle safari, and we were lucky to have Krishna as our guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. Despite it being the monsoon season in August — not ideal for safari drives — Krishna and our driver went above and beyond to give us the best possible experience. Thanks to their effort, we saw many rhinos. I will definitely come back after the end of February, the best season, determined to see a tiger next time— and I’ll stay at this resort again without a doubt!

Some of the most sincere hospitality I have experienced worldwide. The most important factor of which was the resort manager who greeted us with refreshingly kind enthusiasm and went entirely out of his way to do the smallest things to make us feel at home, and seemed genuinely committed to making our experience the best it could be, and he had an endless amount of knowledge to share about the wildlife, the culture, and customs of the area and Nepal as a whole. We stayed 2 nights for a Safari weekend and were spoiled with a full itinerary. All staff were friendly and polite at all times, and the entire resort- particularly the rooms and beds- were the finest you can find in all of Nepal. Above all the greatest facet was the nature that encompassed the whole resort, before we’d even began the safari we’d already been within 10 feet of a one-horned rhino and countless crocodiles as well as a plethora of Nepal’s bird species. Overall the best experience I’ve had in Nepal thus far.

Unfortunately, my stay was far from enjoyable—poor service, inedible food, and the absence of experienced management made it feel chaotic rather than relaxing. The resort severely underdelivered: staff were inattentive, the food lacked even basic quality standards, and the GM appeared disengaged and indifferent. we expected hospitality, but encountered disarray—service was sloppy, meals were subpar, and the GM seemed completely out of touch. The experience was disappointing at every level, with untrained staff, tasteless meals, and leadership that was nowhere to be found when needed.”

We had such a lovely time at River Bank Jungle Resort! The environment was so peaceful and wholesome, it really felt like a home away from home. The staff were incredibly kind and made us feel truly cared for. The food was simple, fresh, and delicious, just what we needed. If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing place to stay in Chitwan, this is it!
