"Before dark, we just went with the flow and chose the nearest hotel. No plans, no expectations, we followed the navigation. We drove into a tranquil manor. Opening the door at dawn, the sound of rain replaced birdsong. The garden was filled with tiny wildflowers. The most beautiful scenery is never in the plan."

📍 Onze Lieve Vrouwstraat 21, Bilzen

"Please note: this review may not apply to everyone, as I use a wheelchair. We've stayed several times near Bilzen, but in a different hotel. Unfortunately, there was no space there, so we ended up at this one. Accessibility: We used the underground parking garage on Klokkestraat in Bilzen. The parking is very cheap; we paid €2.50 for one night. The hotel is wheelchair accessible, but not through the rear of the parking garage. You'll then arrive directly at the back of the hotel, near a staircase. You can reach the main entrance via a detour involving a ramp and a passage, but this isn't indicated anywhere. Fortunately, I can still climb stairs, so it's not really an issue for me. The exact location of the underground parking garage and which exit to use aren't clearly stated in the reservation confirmation, nor is there an accessible detour to reach the front of the hotel. The receptionist indicated that this was a common problem: the lack of clarity regarding the location of the underground parking garage. There is another (uncovered and free) parking lot on Korenstraat near the hotel entrance. Room: The hotel states on its website and after a phone call that it has wheelchair-accessible rooms. The room (a superior room) was very clean and fully equipped, and the design is beautiful. Unfortunately, the wheelchair accessibility was limited. Our room was indeed accessible, but the passageways are narrow. It's just manageable with a not-too-wide sports wheelchair. Fortunately, the bathroom door opens in both directions. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to reach the bathtub with a wheelchair, and the corners for turning are tight. A separate stool was provided in the walk-in shower. However, the shower controls are on a panel outside the shower. Therefore, you can't get into the shower without assistance without getting your wheelchair wet, as you first have to turn on the rain shower faucet with a push button and then transfer to the stool (good sitting balance is required; there are no armrests or handles). Adjusting the temperature isn't possible when sitting on the stool in the shower, as you can't reach the control panel. The tub looks large in the photos, but in practice, it's disappointing. If you lean back a bit, the drain (the type you have to press) opens very quickly. There's also no sprayer for washing your hair in the tub. Normally, "form follows function," but unfortunately, it's the other way around here. It's all nicely designed, but not very practical. The mirror above the sink is mounted far too high, making it impractical for a wheelchair. Bed: It was too firm for us, but that's obviously a personal preference. So, we slept poorly. Noise: Our room was at the back. The room had excellent air conditioning. The soundproofing from the outside is very good."

"This hotel is situated on the outskirts of Hoeselt in a residential area, with plenty of parking, and is ideal for a stopoff on way to or from the ferry in Rotterdam We booked the room at a very good rate, and we aware the hotel also has a wellness centre. We were pleasantly surprised that the room rate include use of the swimming pool and sun terrace from 5pm- 7pm, which was a bonus in 30 degree heat. The owners are a married couple, both of whom were pleasant and helpful, and the gentleman was an excellent chef Wife and I had steak and spaghetti bolognese which was excellent and reasonably priced. The hotel and restaurant was very well decorated and modern, with comfortable and classy furniture, and also provided a decent breakfast Highly recommended"

"The hotel is quite new, suitable for self-driving tours, and is far from public transportation facilities. Room equipment is simple. The parking lot is a little far away and requires an extra fee. It is recommended that after 8 pm, you can park in nearby roadside parking spaces without paying extra."

"The junior split-level room is a good room in itself. Unfortunately, extra bedding for the sofa bed was missing, and there was no explanation on how to pull it out. Poor instructions on how to get to the parking garage. I had booked for 2, but the system indicated 3 people, meaning we had to pay an extra 6 euros at the hotel first. Very complicated. You couldn't book breakfast online immediately for 1 person, only for 3. Breakfast was more expensive if you booked it on the spot. Quite pricey in general. Tea and coffee making facilities. Nice shower. Weird TV that suddenly got stuck on one channel and wouldn't turn off without unplugging it."

"Stunning hotel Super friendly welcome Beautiful room Lovely surroundings Top-notch breakfast! However: we selected the hotel using the search criteria ‘pool’ and ‘restaurant’, and the pool had to be booked for an extra €15 pp for just 1 hour, and the restaurant was closed on Sunday, the day we were there… Still, we had a lovely stay!"

"The hotel has a great location. Very central to all the restaurants. The hotel is clean and the check in process was smooth. The only downside is there’s no parking onsite so you need to find surrounding parking area. We were lucky to find a nearby parking and because it was Sat evening it was free after 6pm and all day Sunday. Overall a great stay."

"It felt like a 5-star hotel. There's a pleasant lobby with a library and lounge, offering free coffee, cream, tea, and water. There's a kitchen, and comfortable, spacious rooms with 8 wooden bunk beds, each with curtains. The lockers secure with your room card, so no extra padlock is needed. Each room has its own shower and toilet. There's also a terrace with a view of the train station, which is only 50 meters away. An excellent and very affordable place. I heartily recommend it."
