Absolutely incredible hotel experience! Stunning room with balcony overlooking the Singapore Strait. Several activities you can do, from eco golf to fishing and a movie night projected on to the side of the ship. The tour was excellent and all of the staff were great. I hired a motorbike through reception so I could explore the island - all organised very well, although 3x more expensive than say Thailand, Vietnam etc. The restaurant has a limited menu unless you are happy with local, mainly seafood dishes with a couple of western options and pizza. The drinks are expensive already, then they add 21% service and tax, again, significantly higher than what you would pay in similar SE Asian countries but I heard typical for Bintan. Buy your drinks from the convenience store in the ferry terminal - 4x cheaper than the hotel bar restaurant. They did say however that their profits are given to charity. Overall, I had an incredible stay here, excellent value, excellent location if you want to chill or explore the island (not suitable for walking) or just relaxing by the beautiful infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Highly recommended, will 100% return and no need to look at any other hotel on Bintan!

Unique experience to stay here where hardly to find from any place else. We truly enjoyed with our stay. The room was spacious, comfortable, what we like most were the complimentary of minibar, FOC 45mins of ship tour (2 session available of 10am & 4pm daily), infinity pool & close proximity to BBT.

Great hotel for a relaxing holiday with beautiful sunset & sunrise views and sea breeze so cool and refreshing. Daily breakfast buffet is delicious as well

We had a tremendous vacation even for short ones. We booked for 2 nights but the experience was awesome. They arranged my son's birthday with decorating the room.We got to tour the engine rooms and the entire ship hotel Tuti the staff hotel was very helpful . And the restaurant staff too.. And managed to meet the owner of the hotel Mr Eric as we were recommended by his son Daryl. Will definitely come again . Thank you for the experience.

The profits will go to charity organizations which help regardless of race and religion. The hotel owner Eric Saw was super friendly and nice person. Hotel was clean and scenery was great. People were very friendly and approachable. Definitely will go back some day.

Such a wonderful experience here at the hotel.. Nice breakfast n even we got knowledge about the hotels history.. The swimming pools also amazing n kids love it.. The room was unique n my parents love it..

We booked this because we wanted a unique experience. It was a great experience we throughly enjoyed staying on the ship. The staff were so friendly and eager to please. The ship has a fascinating history and profits are shared between charities very different for the hospitality industry! Do see if you can get a room with a balcony it’s nice to sit outside.

To the management and staff of Doulos Phos The Ship Hotel. My husband and I were attracted to Doulos Phos The Ship Hotel for to its rich and unique history, the conversion of a cruise ship to become a hotel! From email communication to the end of stay, it was a great experience. We wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary, the hotel offered a package of decoration with a slice of cake at a certain price but we told them that we can do without it but we were pleasantly and happily surprised when we entered the room, the bed was nicely decorated for our wedding anniversary then a knock at the door with the delivery of the anniversary cake and a personalised card anniversary card! Another pleasant surprise was the ship specially organised a Heritage Ship Tour for us at a timing on 24/10/25 that we can make it. We were so happy with the heritage tour as we very much wanted to know more about the history of the ship, to visit the engine room etc...Tuti, our lady Heritage Tour Guide was friendly, knowledgeable and quick into action when we needed some information about the rooms and hall ( in case we may want to book in the future) Another thumbs up for the hotel. Overall, the staff was polite, smiling always, eager to serve. We will recommend this unique ship hotel, something different from other hotels and the great service!

Thank you Doulos Phos Hotel, for the unforgettable experience! My friends and I truly enjoyed our stay on your ship. From the moment we arrived, we felt a warm welcome. The room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was abundant with food that reminded us of home in the Philippines, something we’ve really missed. The receptionists were very hospitable and guided us well on what to do during our stay. The pool was unique and aesthetic, and what amazed us most was the ship’s rich history, especially how it has touched many lives through charity. A special thanks also to the captain who gave us a tour of the ship (I even wondered if he’s a real captain!) On our last day, despite the bad weather, and although our check-out was scheduled for 12:00 PM, our ferry departure was not until 6:45 PM. The reception staff graciously allowed us to remain in our room until 5:00 PM. This thoughtful gesture meant a great deal to us and made us feel valued and cared for. Overall, our experience exceeded expectations. We are grateful to all the staff of Doulos Phos Hotel for their kindness and professionalism. We celebrated our 1st Anniversary on the ship hotel. It was a very memorable experience. There was a complimentary tour around the ship and it shared the rich history from 1914. Very convenient and walking distance from the ferry terminal, although there was also free transport at our departure.

Beautiful place and exceptional staff! The manager is really a kind person and he is always ready to help. I had also a problem with the driver and they agave me the opportunity to wait in the hotel until the other driver has arrived. I will definitely come back

The room was clean and spacious, and the view from the balcony was good. However, the room felt slightly off-kilter, was a bit dim, and had a low ceiling, which could make it feel a bit stifling. Breakfast offered four menu choices, and the food was decent. A Grab ride from the hotel to Tanjung Uban Terminal cost approximately 30,000 KRW. In Bintan, exploring attractions like snorkeling or the Blue Lake can eat up a lot of your time due to travel. My personal advice is to either plan your itinerary very efficiently, skip these activities altogether, or consider them as a day trip. A free shuttle service is reportedly available between the hotel and BBT Terminal, taking approximately 5 minutes. Swimming while enjoying the sea view was lovely. Definitely bring a shower filter!
