Charming gite for 2/7 people, renovated in 2011, in Birkenwald, a typical little village in northern Alsace (on the border with the northern Vosges mountains, 35km from Strasbourg), famous for its castle, its deer park and its two restaurants popular with connoisseurs. ENVIRONMENT: The gîte is set in 60 acres of private grounds (forest and signposted footpaths just 200m away). THE HOUSE: The gîte is in a wing of an old Alsatian house restored in early 2011. We were keen to retain all the charm of the exposed beams and whitewashed cob walls, while adding the modern touch that is essential for the well-being of our guests. All shops 5 km from the village of Marmoutier and 11 km from Saverne. Surface area: 100m2 on 2 floors.
