Compass Hostel Sydykova

The hostel was clean. I stayed in a twin room and they provided a set of toiletries including shampoo, shower gel, razor, toothbrush, and slippers. It's also close to the city center.

Great location. The hostel feels new, everything is clean and well-maintained. It's on the second floor with no elevator, so you'll have to carry your luggage up. Inside, you're only allowed to walk in shoe covers (provided) or slippers (50 som). Each capsule has its own light and power outlet. The room has air conditioning and lockers. You can ask for an extra blanket. The mattresses are very comfortable, the pillows are decent, and the bedding is clean. Breakfast is served individually; they prepare it at 8 AM and it sits cold on the tables, waiting for guests. It includes scrambled eggs, porridge, slices of sausage and cheese, and a cabbage salad. You can make your own tea and coffee. For the price, it's fantastic service. My only complaint is the snoring neighbors :) I really liked how the showers are set up – they're individual rooms with a shower and toilet. This is more comfortable than having 10 showers in a row. There were no queues for the restrooms, but there weren't many guests either.

I was a bit confused about how to get the outer entrance opened (the staff kindly helped me out!), but overall, my stay was reassuring. The beds have curtains, which provides good privacy, and the locker with a key was large enough to use comfortably. You'll need to bring your own shampoo and soap, but towels are available for rent. The shared areas were always clean and comfortable.
