MladiMir Hotel is a good guest house in the center of Daruvar. It lies by the Julije Janković Park, which is the oldest spa park in Croatia, built along the spa complex by order of Count Antun Janković in the classicist style of garden art, original concept which was unfortunately lost on the occasion of the successive park enlargements. Between the park and the road on which one side of the hotel façade stands there is a railway which is no longer in use. The Hotel is rather calm and comfortable. The common parts are very well decorated. This is one of the reasons why it's so agreeable being there. In the restaurant the lamps, the chairs, the nice paintings on the wall and other decorative motifs and the mirrors on some sides of the columns make the atmosphere be quite impressive. The bedroom I was allocated is nice and comfortable, especially the bed whose mattress has the necessary toughness for one to have a good and long rest. Apart from that, everything else in that room was fit for the purpose for which it was designed, particularly the desk at which I spent a long time working and doing some leisure activities. Besides, the room concerned is very peaceful. I hardly heard any noise during the three weeks of my stay at that hotel. From the bedroom balcony one can enjoy a beautiful view over the Julije Janković Park. A good breakfast is usually available in that hotel. One couldn't affirm that the food which is offered for that meal is of the utmost quality, especially as far as the fruits are concerned. In this respect, for example, the melon didn't taste good. At any rate, it wasn't extremely bad either, and with the rest of the victuals concerned there was enough to keep going for several hours. The members of the personnel are in general very kind and helpful, particularly the ladies Biba and Mihaela who, in addition, are friendly. The other staff member, Branka, who is apparently the manageress, is also helpful but unfortunately she isn't as kind and friendly as her colleagues; she can sometimes even behave in a rude manner, which isn't very pleasant actually. Besides, she smokes a lot, something which is rather disturbing. Albeit she goes out to the terrace for smoking, she is used to leaving the door ajar or even wide open sometimes, so that the cigarette smoke comes into the hotel building thus bothering the guests. The hotel is cleaned up methodically and with much care, and has some facilities which aren't common in Croatian hotels. There is even a sauna where one may eliminate toxins and tensions, and so try to keep himself in healthy conditions. It functions very well, and the guest interested in using it just needs to point it out to the receptionist so that the relevant devices are switched on with enough time to warm up. Summarising, therefore, MladiMir Hotel is a good hotel, as already stated, where one can have a nice time and thus increase the enjoyment of his stay in Daruvar.
