Travelodge Blackpool South Shore

I went on TripAdvisor to look for accessible wet room room for 1 night. On trip advisor it showed £25.99 for 1 night. I clicked on the travelodge website and again it showed £25.99 for 2 people in an accessible bedroom with wet room between 13th and 14th March on standard rate. I proceeded to make payment and as it gone through there was an error. My wife checked our bank app and showed the £25.99 was taken from our account so I called the hotel to make sure and he told me it was cancelled but they took my money. I go to rebook it and see the price jumped up to now £33. I called central reservations like the hotel told me and she said I should go on their website and speak via a form to customer care. I am being passed about. Fraudsters claiming one price and after you make purchase they take your payment and cancel your booking and say it is now £33 and can't change it. Shame on you frauding a disabled woman for profit. At the time of purchase it was advertised and took £25.99 out our account but doesn't book my room. Now it's saying fully booked. I am reporting this to trading standards because at point of purchase and throughout payment process on your travelodge website it didn't once say any other price but £25.99 even when I clicked process payment and that amount was taken from my account. You cannot then cancel it in order to sell it at a dearer price when I'd already paid and booked it for the price shown at the moment of purchase which was £25.99. Pure profiteering

We were dissappointed in the car parking situation. It wasn't exactly made clear that you need to drive into where it was marked exit and press for them to lift the barrier. Then unfortunately there was no room so had to call into reception to find out where we could park it was a bit stressful and could have been avoided. The hotel itself is very secure as you need to press for access to the entrance. Once up to reception on the first floor we were welcomed and allocated a room. The room was very tired with marked and scratched walls and ceiling. The bathroom had all the ususl facilities but a great big crack was in the tiles on the floor about two and half feet long. The shower head was dirty and the bottom of the main door was peeling away. The bed was two single mattresses put together which were obviously well used and meant there was a bump in between which wasnt very comfy. The bar was expensive for drinks and the staff seemed to multitask serving and cleaning tables etc. Some of the same staff were at breakfast and it just felt a bit overall short staffed. The breakfast itself was adequate but basic. We did notify reception on checking out of our findings as we are not usually ones to complain but the issues do make a difference and some just general maintenance.

I’ll start with the negative. Booked online months ago, and realised a week before that I had booked the wrong week. Having e mailed the online service they basically said tough!! However excellent staff on the phone helped me to resolve my issue. We had to upgrade rooms from twin rooms to double doubles. Check in was excellent and staff on reception were great. The three rooms were all on the same floor. They were very clean and the only negative would be that the bathrooms are a little tired looking and could do with a bit of tlc. Breakfast was good and Dot in the restaurant was so helpful, chatty and informative about the hotel, breakfast and Blackpool. We used the indoor and outdoor pool and facilities and it was all excellent. On the last night we ate in the pub bar. They serve until 10 which is a bonus and although I think the food is a little pricey it was really good and the service was spot on, again with really lovely staff. The location is by the Zoo and is a bus ride from the town centre. If there is only a couple of you buy the inclusive bus and tram tickets. If a few more (we were a group of six) it’s cheaper to get a cab (about £10). I like this hotel and currently what makes it a great place to stay is 100% the staff.
