Carousel Hotel
4.1/598 Reviews
We visited the Carousel in September 2020 to attend a friend's wedding and we were really impressed with the hotel, the room, the food, how spotlessly clean it was and the personal service. September 2020 was during the Covid restrictions so the hotel was quiet so was this a fluke? September 2022 the hotel was much busier but the service and standards were the same as two years earlier. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, plentiful breakfast and very friendly and responsive staff. A special mention to Gemma on reception. On the quieter South Shore it is extremely close to the tram stop and there is some parking and it's free. Had a brilliant time again and will be back next year
Ocean Bay

Stayed at this establishment several times over the last few years on a mini break with our grandchildren to visit the attractions of Blackpool. On arrival we discovered that the previous proprietors (Sue and Jim) had moved on and now we have Ally and Allie. We were greeted and welcomed by the new owners, who were very friendly who even carried the children's cases upstairs for us. Our room was comfortable and clean and was adequate for our needs for a few days (3). However, I would like to offer some friendly non-critical advice that may be of benefit in the future. 1. Breakfast: I would expect that majority of hotel guests that stay would like an option of breakfast during their stay, which the previous proprietors provided and to a very high standard. Also, a breakfast that caters for everyone's dietary needs and preferences, without going into too much detail and I completely respect and understand your reasons for not serving certain food. When I enquired about ordering breakfast, I was informed that only vegetarian sausage would be served, and no alternative i.e. bacon/sausage would not be served and unfortunately the chef was off sick, I'm not sure if this would have made a difference. However, you do state in your house rules that guests are allowed to consume takeaways in the dining room. 2. Bar area, this is now off limits and is home to your lovely dog. I think most guests whether travelling with children or not would appreciate an area to chill and relax at the end of the day or just catch up and have a chat with other guests or watch some TV as an alternative to sitting in their room on the bed. Also, most people with families don't want to stay out too late and have the option to return back to the hotel and have a Tea/Coffee/soft drinks and snacks available and maybe an alcoholic beverage for the grownups in the lounge / bar area and feel comfortable in the surroundings, and have an option of a separate area to do it. 3. Towels, although I had to request towels as there were none in the room, and was told on the last day to ask if we needed anymore just ask, we did manage, I do usually pack my own but on this occasion I forgot. I also think the little bottles of toiletries are a genuinely nice touch. I do think your towels need upgrading, one had holes in it, and they do look quite tired and worn. 4. The cost of the stay was more than previous years, which I completely understand the reasons for with the general inflation, but we didn't want room only we wanted the extra facilities such as breakfast and the option of the bar area. Our loyalty chose Ocean Bay Hotel and after researching since my return home I have discovered for the same price or less we would have had all the options and amenities we required, (breakfast / lounge bar / children's entertainment). In other establishments. I feel that it would be better to forewarn guests of the changes made so that they can make up their own mind and choose accommodation

I know you may be sceptical….but this is truly a 5 star hotel. The whole hotel is elegantly furnished, the staff are professional, welcoming and helpful. The rooms are amazing, clean and spacious. Great for kids with the bunk beds and individual TVs. The food is excellent and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Parking all day for £10 and tram stops within a few minutes walk.

Trivelles Seaview Blackpool

We booked our hotel through the website sea view rooms nothing like on website pages.Reception clean on entrance.Sea view rooms some are very small and very dated needs updating.Bed was comfortable and clean.Shower did not have any hot water at all morning or night left it running for 10 minutes still nothing. If you want extra tea and coffee towels you need to ask they don't give you any extra unless you ask for it .Informed the Manager there was **** and smoking in a few rooms adjoining and he said they will be gone soon they are at the festival on in Blackpool nothing was done about it.The smell was that strong it was coming in through the vents into your room from the bathroom. People shouting and banging doors till 3am in the morning ,not good when you are trying to sleep. If you are going to this hotel I would expect better from the management regarding the smoking and **** smell.I can only presume that they did nothing as they were residents in the hotel.

Stayed in this fantastic B&B for my wife's 50th birthday. I can honestly say it was the best experience I've ever had. We was made so welcome by clair and mark upon arrival and the room was absolutely beautiful. They made my wife's birthday very special with 50th banners up in the room. Everything about this beautiful place is top class five star. The room was so comfy and so well equipped. Enjoyed the Jacuzzi bath. Morning we was welcomed by Claire and was given a first class English breakfast greeted with a happy birthday song and a candle in the saucege. Which was really nice of them and it made my wife's day. We also got to meet their pet rabbit and had a long chat regarding our bunny we had just lost after 10 years of living indoors with us. Claire was amazing and very simperfetic over the loss of our rabbit. We felt like we had gained a friend. As for the B&B I would definitely give it a five star review one of the best experience we have ever had and definitely be going back in the very near future. I would like to thank Claire and mark for making us feel so welcome and the wife's birthday very special. Keep up the fantastic work. Mark Alison xxxx
