Just back from another two night break. This hotel never fails to deliver. Staff are courteous and helpful. Food is great. Best Sunday lunch for many a year. Who knew Marmite infused butter is a thing. Works really well. Walked the Blakeney circular walk 7.5 miles, good excuse for coffee and cake. We will be back again. One suggestion. We were in room 305 great room, just need soft door closing on two staff only doors opposite.

Overnight stay, for 3 couples in 3 rooms, following a visit to the Thursford Christmas Spectacular. This 16th century hotel was absolutely awesome with exceptional views and only 8 miles from Thursford. Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast catered to a variety of tastes all cooked to order. I would thoroughly recommend this gem of a hotel.

Very good all round experience. We didn't take our dog in the end but we were allocated a very nice garden room. Well appointed, good bathroom (tip: let the hot water tap run a while before using the shower!) Everything clean and plenty of room with a huge bed, also quiet. Evening meal excellent, huge plate of Brancaster mussels, breakfast very good, with a good quality full English and buffet selection. Staff friendly and engaging. Hotel located opposite the salt marshes and we had a delightful 5 mile walk to Cley and back after breakfast. Would have liked to have tried the crab offerings from the cabin in the car park opposite (free parking to NT members). Great place to visit on the n Norfolk coast.

I stayed for 5 nights and ate in the hotel every night. The hotel was comfortable and the staff were very friendly and attentive. My room (a classic double in main building) was very pleasant - attractively decorated, with comfortable bed, modern bathroom and some nice touches like coffee machine. There wasn't much view due to flat room of dining room below, but you could just see the marshes and the room was very quiet. Lots of sockets in right places. Everything in the bathroom worked well, though sometimes it took a long time for hot water to reach the shower... Lounge very attractive with lots of comfy seating areas - and board games. Breakfasts were good; there was a limited buffet, but all the hot food was freshly-made and very well cooked. Service was excellent. Dinners (in either the bar or dining room, both comfortable) were mainly good, though not outstanding. Portions were very generous, but I'd have preferred smaller with more vegetables. Most of my main courses were fine (slow-cooked mutton, chicken & leek pie, flat-iron steak, venison meatballs), but the butternut squash risotto was rather bland & needed a lot of seasoning. Soups were good, but the veg tartlet starter was disappointing (dry), as was the Bramley sponge dessert (very dry sponge). But on the whole it was ok, and the staff dealt well with any issues. For the location, the general comfort and the staff / service, as well as the breakfast, I'd be very happy to come back; dinners could be more consistent.

We stayed 3 nights as part of a large group of old friends. The hotel is in a lovely location overlooking the Blakeney marshes. It is just a few minutes stroll from the harbour and the picturesque village where there are some good pubs and shacks selling items like crab sandwiches. For walkers there are plenty of options both directly from the hotel and along the coast. There are also many attractions close by like Holkham Hall where the beach is also spectacular. Parking outside was easy even on a Sunday lunchtime when the restaurant was busy. Inside there is a cosy lounge and spacious bar area, at the rear there is a conservatory and a large garden with tables for when the sun shines. Our bedroom was in the older part of the hotel, it was on the small side but it was OK for a short stay, it looked as though it had been refurnished recently and some nice touches included a Nespresso machine and a Dyson hairdryer. The bathroom also looked recently refurbished and it was spotless, the shower worked well but it was over the bath which is a pet hate of mine, at least the side screen didn't leak like most do in hotels. We had dinner at the hotel on the first night and, because it was Sunday, the menu mainly offered roast meats but they were all very well cooked. Breakfasts were very good with high quality ingredients (especially the bacon & sausages) and a good choice of hot options. The outstanding element were the staff who were friendly & helpful but also very professional. There were no delays when being served meals or in the bar and it came across as a slick well managed operation. I would certainly stay here again when heading to Norfolk for a break.

This lovely hotel is in a wonderful location, with some rooms having views across the Saltmarsh. We had a 2 night stay here in a dog friendly room, the room was clean, comfortable, tea, coffee & even a welcome pack for the dog. The staff, from the receptionist, the waiters & the cleaners were so kind & helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Food was very good, plenty of choice for breakfast, fruit, yogurt ,cereal, toast, croissants, variety of cooked breakfasts, tea, coffee, fruit juices, melon. Evening meals ( it's best to book) were delicious, on our 2nd evening we had fish & chips, it was the best we have ever had. Lovely walks from the door, a nice easy one on good paths is from Blakeney quayside to Morston. Loved our stay & would love to go back.

Spent 3 days at this lovely hotel, situated by the quay in Blakeney. The staff are a real asset tot he hotel. The restaurant serves a great variety of very good food, with special mention to the breakfasts. The rooms are small, but sufficient for a short stay, clean, and tidy. The hotel is very well situated in the village, with ample parking and within walking distance to walks & pubs, and driving distance to many attractions in North Norfolk.

Very friendly staff and breakfasts good. Did not have dinners. Room spotless and very comfortable. Unfortunately room 105 was above the kitchen and pretty noisy. Best avoided. However we have kindly been offered an upgrade if we stay again and a complimentary one night stay - B and B, so very happy with that. So we are going back.
