Úthlíd Cottages
4.3/544 Reviews
The cabins are generally quite reasonable, relative to the price in Iceland. We enjoyed the stay, just one night. We chose the place due to its proximity to the geysers and waterfalls Brúarfoss, Gullfoss, Brúarhlöð The view is quite good, it was hard to see the glow due to the lights of the place. The place is nicely maintained, the kitchen is fully equipped, nothing was missing for cooking dinner. Bedrooms are small in bed size, but there is a spacious living room and dining area, so there was no problem of space to conduct oneself in the cabin. The service is human for a change in Iceland - not with receiving a code to open a small safe with a key as it was in most of our places. You get a key and directions to the cabin from the reception, located in the hotel restaurant. The menu of the place looks good, but we did not eat in the restaurant. There is a jacuzzi and shared pool, which didn't look the most inviting, but we didn't use them due to the weather. You are asked, as in many places, to take the garbage with you and wash the dishes. All in all, good and highly recommended service.
Buubble Hotel - Hrosshagi
4.2/510 Reviews
I’ve never stayed in a place like this before. We stayed in both bubble hotels, Hrosshagi and Olvisholt. Both experiences were wonderful. A few of things to note… 1. Check in times are 5-8pm. There isn’t someone on site all night. Just be aware that you cannot check in whenever you want. Plan accordingly. 2. This is a very luxurious form of “glamping”. Each bubble doesn’t have its own bathroom. However, there are two heated bathrooms as well as a common area with two more restrooms and two showers. There is a small area with a sink and coffee pot and a table to enjoy breakfast or play games with a group. I’m not particularly interested in being without good accommodations. These were excellent and there was never any issue with the restrooms or showers. 3. Bring crampons/ice spikes. It can be slippery. Now for the good stuff… The bubbles are incredibly comfortable. It was cold when we were there (around 0 C or 32 F). The bubbles are warm and cozy. The beds were comfortable and warm, as well. They have a heated pad on there that you can adjust to make sure you’re warm. The experience was just like nothing else I’ve ever done. I didn’t see the northern lights at this one (I did at the other). But the views were spectacular, nevertheless. I slept incredibly well and made sure to just enjoy the night and the morning. There are several great things to do in the area. It’s not far at all from some fantastic sights- Secret Lagoon, Gullfoss, Bruarfoss, Faxafoss, Kerid Crater. Try the food at Fridheimar and Efstidalur. It was excellent.
Bjork Guesthouse
4.3/569 Reviews
The house was very cozy and the check in process was very easy as well. The room was a perfect size with a bathroom bigger than our apartment. It's very clean and the owners are just a phone call away. They are very sweet, helpful and will do anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Not to mention the pricing is extremely good (Sleeping arrangements are very expensive in Iceland)!. Almost every attraction in the area is within walking distance and with your booking confirmation you can receive discounts at selected places. 10/10 will definitely book again!!

Golden Circle Apartments
3.9/57 Reviews
Great place to put up en route or seeing the sights ***** the Golden Circle route in Iceland. Features full cooking setup for folks who would like to cook their own food while travelling in Iceland and the rooms are big and spacious. It is also VERY near Laugarvatn Fontana which is just steps away and strongly recommended to visit to soothe those tired travelling muscles after a day of runabout in Iceland.
